Purpose of the role
To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions.
Accountabilities
- Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
- Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
- Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
- Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.

Become a Structured Rates Trader of Barclays’ Rates Options and Structured Rates (ROST) Team, where you’ll play a pivotal role to our business which runs globally with centres of excellence in London, New York and Singapore. Being a leading market maker, Barclays offers world-class execution in non-linear products in Rates Options and structured notes including Vanilla Interest Rate Options as well as Structured Interest Rate Derivatives. In your role, you’ll deliver the market making and execute client trades with sales teams across the regions. You’ll participate into the risk management of global books and work closely with colleagues across Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and London. You’ll will liaise with Research and Sales teams to develop trade ideas for clients as well as portfolio positioning strategies. You’ll handle general desk supports (including working with Product Control, Compliance, Legal and other infrastructure areas). You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role like, good understandings in financial market and wide interests in Options Trading. Being detail focused, able to work under pressure as well as having excellent analytical skills and being proficient in Python & VBA will be ideal. Being a team player who can build solid relationship with internal and external stakeholders will be a plus.
