Job Description
• Responsible to the direct Team Lead [TL] (or General Manager) for achieving the target profit of the respective book business plan through, including but not limited to;
- Strategizing profit model of global trading for both physical and derivatives in addition to the Japanese market and conducting it with adequate speculation and risk management (market price and credit)
- Creating global trading flows and conducting necessary marketing activities i.e. transport / delivery / operations with international clients as well as Japanese clients (such as refineries / utility companies / trading companies or importing companies etc.) in order to fulfill the respective book strategy
• Acts as a resource to other TL/Senior Strategist in the area of your expertise with good network with international clients or ship owners as well as Japanese;
• Support in handling insurance claims including liaising with internal and external parties (Insurers, Insurance Brokers, Ship owners, Agents, Surveyors etc.);
· Prepare and assist with legal correspondences for executing contract and other legal documentations in case of arbitration;
• Work closely with Operations team for vessel operations, vessel vetting, instructions on loading/discharging/ inspections, demurrage management, cargo insurance matters, letter of credit and related troubleshooting;
Job Requirement
• Good degree from a recognized University
• Possess more than 2 to 3 years of working experience in a trading company in charge of physical LNG trading and optimization for sizeable and global LNG trading portfolio.
• Preferable if having experiences in scheduling of deliveries, derivatives including hedging operations, contract management, and/or vessel operations.
• High level awarenessof compliance and internal control.
• Basic risk analysis & management, hedging, economic evaluation, financial, credit and accounting knowledge of energy trading business.
• Good logistics/operational knowledge of LNG trading business.
• Good legal knowledge in Contract/Maritime law especially in energy trading business.
• Excellent English and Japanese language skills, with the ability to logically comprehend a written document, and ability to write formal business correspondences for communication with clients (Japanese / International / local) and other Mitsui Group offices (i.e. Tokyo and other offices in the network).
• Good inter-personal skills for internal and external communication.
• Possess existing relationship with customers in the industry.
• Can-do attitude, with the willingness to learn and willingness to work hard to create value, due to
international nature of the business.
• Excellent skills in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Willingness to learn new digital tools.
