Role & Responsibilities
We are seeking a developer who is eager to work on FinOps, including Back Office, Accounting, and Finance operations. While prior expertise is not a requirement, the ideal candidate should be willing to learn and grow in these areas. The candidate should possess a strong desire to explore various aspects of the business and engage with stakeholders on a regular basis.
In this role, you will join the APAC Development team based in Singapore. Your primary responsibility will be to work directly with FinOps business users, providing them with daily system support and operational assistance. Additionally, you will be translating their business requirements into effective IT solutions.
The main application you will be working on is built on a Java framework. However, there may be a few other applications that require proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as C# (.Net) and Python.
The main activities of this developer are:
Developing new features & enhancing the tools:
- Understand client requirements and how they translate in application features
- Write high quality source code to program enhancements o Perform unit and integration testing
- Perform functional and non-functional testing
- Respect the development standards
- Keep up with trends in terms of standard, technologies or methodologies
Supporting the tools:
- Process support requests for users and application clients (IT for IT): configuration, assistance, etc.
- Engage in FTS (Follow-the-Sun) model with Europe, including information sharing and tasks handover
- Adapt monitoring tools and procedures
Transversal:
- Enrich the backlog of issues (source of recurring incidents), including description, impact/recurrence/priority…
- Self-organize continuous learning on the IS systems and landscape.
- Share improvement ideas with local and Paris/Brussels developers.
Qualifications
Required:
- Solid expertise in Java programming language is required
- Good knowledge of the Spring framework
- Solid knowledge of SQL to be able to write complex queries (SQL Server)
- Rest API design and development
- Knowledge of clean and tested code writing
- Willing to work in (pick up) other programming languages and technology frameworks where appropriate; In particular C# and/or Node.js
- Good troubleshooting skills to find out root cause of issue and provide valuable suggestions to resolve the problem
- Good ability to translate business requirements into technical solution with good design & supportability
- Experience in Software Development Life Cycle e.g. Agile
- Good communication skills, especially when engaging with different stakeholders
- Client-oriented mindset
- A team player with and ability to work with global teams effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and dealing with constraints
- Strong discipline in documentation
Desirable:
- Knowledge of front, middle and back office processes and functional design on commodity trading – including deal representation (both physical & financial), MTM pricing, logistics, settlement, accounting and controls
- Knowledge of BDD approach (ideally with cucumber)
- French speaker
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps
Work arrangement
- Full-time, Mondays to Fridays
- 3 days on-site and 2 days remote/work from home
