The Singapore Gastric Cancer Consortium (SGCC) is a translational research group comprising clinicians and scientists working in gastric cancer research. Job Requirements:

• Experience in semiconductor process and engineering knowledge with a demonstrated understanding of troubleshooting at a high level.
• Experience as a team or project lead.
• Advance understanding of software configuration, machine system architecture, maintenance, repair and debug.
• Intermediate level of Omron PLC, Mitsubishi PLC, Siemens PLC, Allen-Bradley PLC, and Keyence PLC systems, including installation, setup, systems administration, troubleshooting, and fine-tune.
• Intermediate level with one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Ladder Diagrams, Functional Block Diagram, Structured Text, and Statement List.
• Knowing how to communicate between PLCs and with other devices by RS232/TCPIP/Modbus/
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact appropriately with users of various technical-skilled levels and to remain professional while working to resolve problems.

Job Description

The Singapore Gastric Cancer Consortium (SGCC) is a translational research group comprising clinicians and scientists working in gastric cancer research. The group aims to solve important clinical questions to improve the care of gastric cancer patients, facilitated by close interaction between clinicians and scientists, and with synergism that enables biologic discoveries in the laboratory to be validated in the clinical setting.

Our research theme, “Bringing Discoveries to Patients” was recently awarded the Open Fund - Large Collaborative Grant by the National Medical Research Council. This will spearhead key research projects which include molecular testing for gastric cancer prevention, personalized cancer therapy and treatment, characterization of gastric stem cells, and single cell analysis of gastric cancers.

Duties

• Work with Research Fellow/s in the conducting of clinical research projects
• Processing and molecular analysis of patient blood and tissue samples
• Screening and consenting study subjects
• Optimizing and troubleshooting new experimental protocols
• Keep meticulous records of Case report form (CRF) documentation.
• Data analysis and statistical analysis of the research studies
• Coordinate laboratory operational activities through managing laboratory and sample inventories, establishing laboratory procedures and organization of laboratory consumables
• Work with Laboratory Safety Lead to ensure laboratory safety and maintain safety documentation and procedures
• Assist Research Manager in grant reports and organizing scientific meetings
