• As an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer, you will serve as the primary liaison among design consultants, client representatives, statutory authorities, and other stakeholders, ensuring the timely delivery of design and construction document
• Assist in the development of MEP system designs to ensure they meet project specifications and regulatory standards.

Client Liaison and Documentation:

• Collaborate with clients’ representatives on services such as diversions, removals, technical resolutions, and handling necessary certificates, documents, and as-built drawings.
• Facilitate the successful submission of these documents for Certificate of Statutory Completion (CSC) and the final project handover.

Technical Support for Procurement:

• Provide the procurement and operations teams with technical insights to support the award of subcontracts and procurement packages.
• Ensure all materials and systems selected for the project meet both technical and quality specifications.

Site Coordination and Supervision:

• Oversee on-site activities and the work progress of MEP subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Verify that all materials, samples, method statements, and technical submissions are reviewed and approved according to project requirements.
• Ensure MEP installations are executed according to drawings and specifications, maintaining compliance with local building codes.

Technical Clarifications and Method Statements:

• Resolve on-site technical issues promptly by coordinating with project stakeholders and ensuring subcontractors have clear, actionable instructions.
• Prepare and review method statements for various MEP installations and testing procedures.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Perform quality checks on MEP installations to ensure they meet design and safety standards.
• Ensure all systems are commissioned and fully operational before project handover.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of work progress, inspections, and any technical changes.
• Submit daily and weekly reports to the Project Manager, documenting site activities, potential delays, and areas of concern.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up to date with the latest developments in MEP systems and construction practices.
• Propose improvements or optimizations to enhance the efficiency of MEP systems in ongoing or future projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Post Graduate Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience working in an MEP-related role within the construction industry.
• Industrial project site experience is advantageous, particularly in the installation and commissioning of HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Process Systems, or Cleanroom facilities.
• Experience working with PMC (Project Management Consultancy) teams is preferred
• Frequently travel will be required

Job Description:

The Part-Time Specialist – Centre Management System Support is responsible for ensuring all exhibits, audio-visual equipment, facilities, and essential services are available daily to support daily operations for centres/museums under Defence Collective Singapore (DCS), creating a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for employees, visitors, and customers.

The Part-Time Specialist may also be converted to a Full-Time role after assessment by the relevant reporting officer which proves his/her aptitude, suitability and adaptability in the current role.

Responsibilities:

• Daily Startup & Shutdown of Facilities, Exhibits, Attractions & Projection Systems.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, exhibition and gallery equipment, HVAC, and mechanical repairs to ensure the proper functioning of facilities and equipment.
• Building Systems: Monitor and maintain building systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), fire protection, and security systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Contractor Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors, vendors and service providers for specialized repairs, installations, or renovations as needed. Supervise and inspect the works of contractors and the works of the 2 service providers (cleaning, housekeeping, landscaping, pest control, car park and security). To ensure contractors’ compliance to safety, regulations and level of standards set my DCS.
• Event Setup: Setup of logistics inclusive but not limited to AV Systems, Furniture, and equipment for events & daily organised visits.
• Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of supplies, tools, and materials needed for facility maintenance and repair activities. Recommend buying of critical spares and consumables for various facilities repair and improvement and participate in facilities improvement projects.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages, equipment failures, fire emergency/incidents or building damage, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.

Requirements:

• N-Level/O Level/ NITEC/ Professional Certificate
• Preferable with 1 year working experience in similar roles. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including proficiency in clear, concise, and compelling oral and written communication in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure and to manage multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilities while dealing with changing priorities.
