The Role

We are seeking an Investment Analyst based in Schonfeld Singapore office to provide integrated investment advice to Portfolio Manager. This person should be a team player with excellent communication skills, computer proficiency and high level of professionalism and familiar with Taiwan investment markets and technology sector.

What you’ll do

- Assist portfolio manager on investment research, financial statement analysis covering Asia Pacific including Taiwan market

- Ensure knowledge of entire investment solution suite, recommend investment solutions to Portfolio Manager;

- Prepare meeting materials; generate research materials – proprietary, economic commentary and Bloomberg etc. as needed

- Review exceptions and recommend strategy to resolve exceptions; and

- other tasks or projects as required.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

- A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in the role of investment industry (such as Investment banks, Hedge Fund or Private Equity)

- In-depth knowledge in investment with focus on Taiwan equity market is a must

- Proven track record in particular with industrial knowledge or experience on financial,technology sector equities will be a strong plus

- Proficient in Python programming;

- Degree or above in computer Science, computer engineering or related disciplines; and

- Business fluent English

Job Description

• Manage and monitor in an integrated manner the risks, internal control, ethics, and compliance with the guidelines issued by the Head Office.
• Support the processes to provide security in the fulfilment of the objectives, with the process executors and owners, to identify and analyze the materialized events, perform the root cause analysis with the process executors and owners and support the definition of the corresponding action plans.
• Advise process owners in the follow-up of the performance of mitigants (controls and treatment actions) and in the analysis and monitoring of alerts - KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) of the process, progress of treatment actions, identification of materialized events and in the preventive testing and monitoring of the processes under his/her responsibility.
• Support in the attention of External Auditors, Management Testing, and preventive monitoring of Internal Control and verification of the adequacy of the improvement plans defined for the closing. Support in SOX Testing with Internal and External Auditors including KYC matters.
• Support Compliance Leader in advisory requirements and preparation of reports and presentations to the ECPTA and ECPSG Board of Directors, Head Office, external audits and compliance organizations.
• Support any ad-hoc requirement's related to Risk, internal control and compliance from Singapore / Bogota including local requirements.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Desirable certifications required for the development of the function.
• Between 5 and 7 years of relevant in Audit, SOX, internal controls, compliance, and risk management processes in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management. Strong innovative and problem solver, eager to work in a fast paced, changing environment and enjoying daily challenges.

• Contribute to projects / initiatives, starting from Requirements Gathering, Functional Specs review to User Acceptance Testing and Live Verification.
• Must have good working hands-on experience in data querying (SQL and such) and handling of data schemas and data wrangling. Subject matter expertise in consumer/retail credit domain will be an instant hit.
• Review requirements to ensure alignment to design principles and data architecture
• Evaluate existing BAU process and identify areas that need improvement and propose options as solutions
• Attend to user stories/requirements from stakeholders e.g. credit risk analysts with regards to data and dashboarding needs and work with MOT (Tech) data factory and/or READ teams
• Join regular scrum meetings and user stories grooming sessions to ensure that enhancements are delivered accordance to business requirements/solutions and is within budget and timelines
• Review solution proposal from MOT (Tech) and provide effective challenge and counter proposal
• Familiarity with consumer credit loan systems and customer systems for secured lending products (ie. LEAPS ORIGINS (front-end booking system) and Finacle (account maintenance system)
• Familiarity with consumer credit loan systems and customer systems for cards and unsecured loan products (ie. VisionPlus)
• Should have experience with collection management system such as Debt Manager and Aspect/Cisco auto dialler
• Good knowledge of Collibra as part of data discovery and lineage between data tables in ADA/DL (data warehouses).
• Participate in various workshops from BU initiatives

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (e.g. engineering and numerate degrees in science, economics, finance, or business)
• Familiarity with the energy industry, understanding its value chain and economic drivers; experience of working in energy trading, preferably in LNG or natural gas markets
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
