Who we are looking for

This is a senior level management role within the Hedge Funds Services Business Unit of the State Street Alternative Investment Solutions Group. The position interacts with all levels of professionals both internally and externally and with senior level executives of State Street. Therefore, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required. Candidates must demonstrate strong initiative, be able to perform well under pressure and be capable of managing multiple and diverse assignments. What you will be responsible for

• Provide overall direction to team of staff to assure synchronized teamwork that accomplishes yearly and quarterly financial and operations goals and objectives.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Candidate must have a university degree (business, mathematics, finance or economics preferred, accounting concentration a plus) and at least 7 years of accounting experience, including 2 to 3 years of supervisory and financial reporting experience is required.
• Experience in the Hedge Funds and Fund of Funds is required.
• Strong computer skills are required, especially Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel.

Job Description

Finance Shared Services Centre (FSSC) serves to increase efficiency and improve customer experience in financial services of the ministry and the Home Team Departments (HTDs).

You will be part of the Fixed Assets (FA) team and is responsible for ensuring that the fixed asset register is complete and in compliance with prevailing polices, law and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

i. Ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of period-end FA reports (e.g. Fixed Asset Stock-take report, Development Project-in-Progress (DPIP) report, and the Consolidated Fixed Asset Schedule) for management and statutory reporting and audit reviews. This includes reviewing of the asset count, performing FA reconciliation and investigating discrepancies (i.e. add, retire or rectify erroneous transactions reported by users via service requests or identified when reviewing expenditure)

ii. Review development expenditure to assess correct treatment of expenditures for asset capitalisation, before capitalising the assets.

iii. Maintain standards of excellence for FA processes by facilitating the learning of HTDs through conducting trainings, providing guidance on FA matters (i.e. ensure FA related SOPs are adhered to) and implementing process changes to strengthen governance and control.

Your key responsibilities

As an Associate Partner, you'll lead pursuits and engagements to provide clients with tax guidance and consulting related to tax accounting and planning (internal restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, dispositions, carve-out financial statements, GAAP conversions from US GAAP to IFRS or IFRS to US GAAP, financial statement disclosures and balance sheet remediation of tax accounts).
