Duties

• Undertakes specific stages of audit work under supervision.
• Appreciate the underlying principles behind the tasks assigned as part of the audit plan.
• Able to make adjustments to the application of skills to improve the work tasks or solve non-complex issues.
• Able to build relationships, work in a team and identify ethical issues with reference to the code of professional conduct and ethics.
• Select and apply from a range of known solutions to familiar problems and takes responsibility for own learning and performance.
• Work with any of the assurance teams to obtain an understanding of our client’s business.
• Develop an audit plan/strategy for an audit of financial statements and document the planning procedures.
• Prepare/tailor audit programmes based on areas of audit emphasis determined at the planning stage.
• Perform audit tests of controls and substantive procedures based on planned audit approach to address the various assertions, eg: existence & completeness, rights and obligations, valuation, accuracy, presentation and disclosure.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support daily operational reporting, data extraction for various business needs, and audit-related tasks. This role is integral to ensuring data accuracy, providing actionable insights, and supporting compliance within our credit card operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical background, experience with SQL, and an understanding of financial data relevant to the credit card industry.

Responsibilities

1.Daily Operational Reporting

• Generate, review, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to credit card transaction volumes, financial performance, and other OKRs.
• Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of all reporting outputs.
• Collaborate with different departments to customize reports to meet operational needs.

2. Data Extraction for Business Operations

• Use SQL or other query tools to extract data as needed for ad-hoc analysis,performance tracking, and business operations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, design queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Identify data trends and provide recommendations based on analysis.

3. Audit and Compliance Support

• Support internal and external audit activities by retrieving and validating required datasets.
• Document data sources, extraction methodologies, and calculations to ensure data transparency.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to ensure data reporting aligns with regulatory requirements.

4. Data Management and Quality Assurance

• Conduct regular quality checks on datasets and reports to ensure consistency andaccuracy.
• Participate in data cleansing and enrichment initiatives to improve data quality.
• Maintain data documentation and ensure adherence to data governance policies.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to automate data processes and reporting workflows.
• Develop and enhance analytical tools and dashboards to support decision-making.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics for financial services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the financial or credit card industry.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Understanding of credit card operations and financial transaction data.
• Experience with statistical tools (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.

The ideal candidate should have the following essential attributes:

• possess sound knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and Singapore Standards on Auditing.

In this role, the candidate is required to:

• perform audits relating to a portfolio of companies across a broad spectrum of industries.
• be responsible for the planning, execution and documentation of audit fieldwork.
• follow up on audit findings independently.

The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

• ACCA or accounting degree qualification which is recognised by ISCA, or have the Chartered Accountant of Singapore qualification.
• a minimum of 1 year relevant experience for associate level.
• a working knowledge of Caseware audit software and proficiency in MS Excel would be added advantages.
