Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop terminal procurement strategy for the assigned Area/s in collaboration with the Area/s and ONE procurement strategy through establishing long term partnership with key vendors at strategic locations for long term value creation, securing capacity and performance based collaboration
- Develop negotiation plans, strategies, securing competitive costs and executing contracts negotiations in collaboration with internal teams (e.g. legal, etc.)
- Support implementation of Global sustainability initiatives and drive with vendors
- Ensure accurate and transparent cost accounting and forecast
- Support cost savings and process improvement efforts
- Initiate feasibility studies for investments or long-term partnerships with operators and develop business plan and financial models for investment/divestment projects
- Review current portfolio of terminals to determine consolidation and/or divestment opportunities
- Drive the end-to-end deal execution process (financial modelling, risk assessments, valuation, due diligence, structuring and closing)
- Prepare expression of interest and bid documents where appropriate
- Act as PMO, lead and coordinate in discussions involving teams from regional organization, corporate shared services (Legal, Finance, Tax, etc.) and external consultants
- Draft and review documents such as joint venture agreements, shareholders agreements service agreements and others
- Perform due diligence to confirm validity of information obtained from potential partners or acquisition targets
- Participate in ad-hoc projects
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Maritime Studies, Logistics or relevant disciplines
- 4 to 6 years of experience in the Investments Analysis, Financial Statements, Shipping/Logistics industry or related working experiences in costs side of business in Container Shipping
- Basic knowledge of financial statement analysis, structure of contracts
- Basic experience in finance modelling with strong analytical skills
- Experience in shipping or logistics Business Process Management and/or IT-related departments would be preferred
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), proactive in cross-team collaboration
- Proficient in Excel and data analysis; tech-savvy with an open mind to learn & apply new technologies
- Self-driven, proactive in improving systems and costs control measures
- Able to work independently, thrive under pressure to meet tight timelines
- This position supports two departments, Global Terminal Procurement and Global Terminal Business Development
