Food & Beverage Team Leader is the key point of contact for our guests at The Great Room. He / She provides an appropriate welcome at The Great Room for guests, maximising their dining experience using technical and individual social skills. They work in close coordination with all employees and outsourced staff in the hotel and are dependable in meeting the needs of our guests throughout their stay.
Your Day-to-Day Job Responsibilities:
Guest Experience
- Answer any guests enquires practically and simply in adherence to brand standards
- Handle guests' complaints appropriately adhering to brand standards or direct them to Duty Manager (DMs)
- Reliably handle all special needs and requests of guests and repeat visitors
- Demonstrate BrandHearted behaviours by maintaining compliance with all brand standards, behaviors, hallmarks and license agreement mandates
- Refresh Food and Beverage in The Great Room
- Clean and Organize Guest Areas and Pick up debris throughout Public Areas
- Updating constantly on local knowledge to improve the guest experience
- Meet and greet all guests, and potential guests, at the front of The Great Room
- Ensure restaurant operating equipment is clean and in working order
- Ensure the restaurant is ready to receive guests prior to opening and that tables are ready in line with opening standards
- Be attentive to guests and resolve their complaints where possible, reporting all incidents to your Supervisor/Assistant Manager
- Escort guests to their preferred table or reserved table and seat guests according to restaurant standards
- Ensure tables are cleared quietly and efficiently
- Carry food and beverage trays in a safe manner to minimize breakages
People
- Promote the Holiday Inn Express ‘one team approach’ and reliable service through daily communication and coordination with all team members
- Participate in programs that drive improvements in team member engagement and are aligned with the ‘Make Every Interaction Count’ brand service behaviours
- Assist with food & beverage service
Responsible Business
- Ensure own productivity and that of the team on a day-to-day basis by planning and assigning work and establishing performance and development goals as set by the DMs
- Contribute by participation in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations
- Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same
- Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
- Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
- Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
- Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
- Guest recognition - Keep track of the regular guests and provide them with extra attentive service
- Assist in planning the manpower/rostering exercise if required
- Perform other duties as assigned

Food & Beverage Team Leader will efficiently and effectively create a friendly and efficient guest experience throughout the hotel consistently. He / She will support the ‘one team’ approach to deliver the Holiday Inn Express brand standards. To provide an appropriate welcome for guests and potential guests, maximizing their dining experience using technical and individual social skills. He / She will also help to create a desired work culture around our Winning Ways of the IHG Hotels & Resorts and embrace the IHG Commitment.
- Minimum high school/ secondary education
- Great communication skills and basic computer literacy
- A positive and keen to learn attitude
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English and with good communication skills
