Responsibilities:

• Preparing meal ingredients for the cook, which includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing ingredients.

• Assisting kitchen staff to unload food supplies from suppliers.

• Properly washing and drying all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments, and cutting boards.

• Neatly putting away all utensils, cooking instruments, dishes, and cutting boards in their respective places.

• Packing take-out orders as needed.

• Removing garbage, replacing garbage bags, and washing garbage cans.

• Mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas as required.

• Storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience helping in kitchen settings.

• Obtain basic Food Safety Course.

• The ability to stand for extended periods of time.

• Available for weekend and holiday shifts.

Working Days: 5days (Within a week any 5days)

Job Scope:

• Keep abreast with developments of new products in the market.
• Make recommendations to Director on new products
• Develop new product formulation
• Conduct R&D trials to produce samples for evaluations
• Technical evaluation of new raw materials (nuts, ingredients etc.)
• Responsible for laboratory routine house-keeping program (5’S)
• Review relevant Food Regulations to ensure regulatory compliance
• Sourcing for food ingredients and work closely with them if needed
• Develop new product packaging including bar code setting, product label
• Continuously improve existing products and processes
• Contribute to Customer Complaints Product Quality Issue (Investigation & report preparation)
• Update ISO/HACCP documents when changes occur
• Check and ensure product label/sticker in compliance to customer and/or government or export country regulations
• Do other task assigned by superior.

Requirement:

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Food & Nutrition industry
• Able to apply food technology knowledge to formulate new products with minimal supervision or guidance
• Skilled in sourcing for food ingredients
• Skilled in R&D project management
• Able to think creatively and passionate about new ideas
• ISO, HACCP, BRC, HALAL certification related knowledge

• Manage execution of plans for development of new products to meet agreed timescales and product development requirements
• Leads and initiates the development of food products and processes as driven by business needs of the organisation.
• Oversees new product development throughout its lifecycle from conception to manufacturing implementation, including the sensory evaluations of food products and definition of manufacturing formulation and process control parameters.
• Develops and maintains project plans, identifying critical paths and resources required
• Manage scale-up of new recipes from laboratory scale to production scale
• Manages projects and plant costs from testing to implementation
• Evaluates and makes recommendations concerning the application of new ingredient / processing technologies
• Design and execute stability studies for recipe development, sensory and analytical testing of recipes
• Review and validate recipes to ensure compliance to government food regulations for all markets
• Ensure the adherence of new and existing products to gross profits as set by the Company
• Develop recommendations and justifications on Profit and Quality Improvement Programs
• Takes charge of presentation of samples to Management and Sales Team
• Provide training and technical support to Manufacturing, QA, and Technology
• Works closely with the Sales team, Production teams, QAQC, and Purchasing.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Food Science, Chemistry or similar discipline
• At least 2 years of Product Development and R&D experience from concept to commercialization
• Experience in ingredient and flavour applications
• Knowledge of flour application and/or frozen food will be useful for work
• Ability to accurately prepare specifications, label declarations and formulations with no technical errors
• Have knowledge in food chemistry and statistical analysis as used in designing experiments and measuring process capabilities
• Must articulate strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Have strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office
