Our client is one of the licensed warehouses, specialised in handling and storage of dutiable cargo like alcoholic beverages and tobacco.You will be responsible for interacting with customers through phone, email, chat, or in person to provide information about products or services, take orders, handle returns, and resolve complaints. It requires listening to customer concerns, investigating issues, and proposing timely and satisfactory solutions. Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) / Associate Professor (Tenure-Track / Tenured) in Speech Signal and Natural Language Processing.

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research in speech signal and natural language processing (NLP), encompassing various areas such as speech recognition and verification, speech synthesis, speech enhancement, speech emotion and sentiment analysis, speech coding and compression, computer processing of human languages, theoretical and empirical analysis of natural language models and applications, NLP enhanced by human computation and interaction, NLP for information retrieval in web

and conversational search, and large language model (LLM). In addition to research, the successful candidate will actively participate in teaching and administrative duties at a level that aligns with the expectations of a world-class, research-intensive university.

To facilitate research development, the successful applicant will be allocated dedicated time with a reduced teaching and administrative workload initially.

Responsibilities

• Secure research funding to establish and expand research initiatives, while delivering high-quality research outcomes in the form of publications, invention disclosures, engineering designs, and other relevant outputs in the fields of speech signal and natural language processing, as well as other disciplines associated with Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and related fields.
• Provide support, supervision, and mentorship to undergraduate students involved in project work and other academic endeavors, as well as postgraduate research students in their research projects and career development.
• Actively participate in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, College of Engineering, and University communities by engaging in activities related to research, teaching, enterprise, student experience, and widening participation.

Requirements

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

• A Ph.D. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant field
• At least four years of research experience in speech signal and/or natural language
• processing
• Excellent track records in publishing high-impact papers in top journals and conferences
• Proven track records and expertise in speech signal and/or natural language processing
• Preferable to have secured some research funding as principal investigator
• Preferable to have proven track records of teaching and mentoring
• Good interpersonal skills
• A mindset of continual growth and academic excellence
