This position has a strong focus on Campus Planning and Redevelopment, for which planning has already started. Responsibilities:-
You will be responsible for the following:
Planning and Development
- Be involved in Singapore Polytechnic, SP infrastructure and facilities planning, development and management.
- Provide technical support and assistance to SP Master Plan Project team to access and acquire information on SP’s infrastructure and installed systems.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings (design planning, interface, technical clarification, etc) as per planned schedule to provide technical inputs as needed.
- Support and input to the consultants’ technical and design proposal to meet SP’s operation needs and minimising Electrical services disruption.
- Coordinate internally for design and interface coordination through the various transition phases of the SP Master Plan.
- Review and input to proposed work plans and schedules to achieve control, compatibility and coordinated objective to avoid and minimise operation disruptions.
- Assist in the management of the appointed maintenance agent and specialist system vendors in their maintenance scope and planned program including breakdown investigations, inspections and audit.
- Be the bridge between FM and consultants, so that detailed information, including operations workflows, interdependencies, additional requests and ideas, are documented, transferred and communicated between and with all parties in a timely manner, and captured for holistic design, development and subsequent procurement planning.
- Follow through on the project, including obtaining the sign offs and approvals where necessary before the space is built, all the time ensuring that the space is built according to approved plans.
- Keep abreast of latest Singapore Standards and authority requirement, so as to lead Singapore Polytechnic in the desired direction.
- Interface with the consultants and build stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, including government agencies and community partners.
- Responsible for budgetary planning and control, ensuring that the development keeps within budget.
- Write papers for approval on relevant subjects when required.
- Support the rest of the campus planning team where required.
Other Project and Programme Management and Implementation of Strategy and Initiatives
- Manage and coordinate several on-going projects and events at a time, keeping an eye on each timeline and achieving milestone goals to meet specific deadlines.
- Assist in identifying strategy goals, initiatives and programmes, and developing action plans for and coordinating implementation.
- Review the initiative and programme execution at regular intervals and report the progress at management meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum Degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Power/ Technology or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experiences.
- Previous experience in Electrical installation work is advantageous.
- Good interpersonal skills and customer service oriented.
- Positive work attitude, ability to work with all levels of staffs and strong team player.
- Possess confidence to resonate with senior management leadership – internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines.
- Good analytical and organization skills including computer literacy.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skill.
- Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities.
- Strong team-player, with natural ability to interact with all levels of staff.
- Good listening ability, and a positive attitude.
- Certification as Licensed Electrical Worker, Fire Safety Manager and/or Green Mark Facilities Manager will be an advantage.
