Our Japanese client is looking to expand their team in Sustainability and take the lead in sourcing natural rubber in a responsible and sustainable way.

Job Description:

• Implement policies and strategies aligning with the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR) policy framework and our corporate sustainability goals
• Communicating with our natural rubber suppliers and ensuring they comply with our standards on legal compliance, healthy functioning ecosystems, respecting human rights, community livelihoods, increased production efficiency, supply chain assessment and traceability, monitoring, and reporting
• Engaging with various stakeholders, including GPSNR members, CSOs, governments, industry associations, and local communities, to promote best practices and collaboration on sustainable natural rubber issues
• Conducting risk assessments and due diligence on our natural rubber supply chain and identifying areas for improvement and intervention
• Supporting the development and implementation of smallholder sustainable development projects across our sourcing regions
• Reporting on our progress and performance on natural rubber sustainability to internal and external audiences

Job Requirements:

• A Diploma or bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, sustainability, supply chain management, or a related field
• Preferably at least 3 years of experience in natural rubber production, processing or sustainability
• Knowledge of the natural rubber industry, its challenges and opportunities, and the GPSNR policy framework and standards
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a field-based and multicultural environment
• Willingness to travel to natural rubber-sourcing regions
