• To assist Fire Safety Manager in the implementation of protocols as per Emergency Response Procedure (ERP) to be in line and compliance with Singapore Fire Code requirements.
• To assist Fire Safety Manager in conducting relevant drills as per frequency stipulated by SCDF.

Job Requirements

• At least 3-5 years of SCDF Experience on Emergency.
• NITEC or higher NITEC or equivalent and above.
• At least 3-5 years of actual front-line emergency response experience including (but not limited to) Firefighting and casualties Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Work at Height Rescue
• Experience in leading and managing a team of responders for the mentioned emergency scenarios

Project Introduction: Adaptability is the capacity to effectively react and respond in constructive ways to situations that can be characterized by change, novelty and uncertainty. In this programme of work, the tripartite model of adaptability will be used to examine Singapore Physical Education (PE) Teachers’ level of adaptability. The model involves cognitive, behavioural and emotional adaptability and refers to how an individual’s thinking, behaviour and emotions can be modified. In the context of PE teachers, the subject of PE is underpinned by a high level of variability and dynamism of the teaching environment as well as interaction among students and the PE teacher (e.g., physical classroom, CCA, outdoor education, values-based education). Unlike other subjects, the teaching and learning situation can transit quite quickly and there is greater uncertainty on the emergence of students’ learning behaviours as they interact with the learning task and environment.

In this programme of work, the research team would build on their previous research experiences and track records to i) examine how adaptable Singapore PE teachers are (Phase 1), ii) the factors that could impact the level of adaptability (e.g., perceived autonomy support, socio-demographic variables, resilience, and creativity) (Phase 1) and iii) if PE teachers with higher adaptability levels are more inclined to adopt innovative pedagogical practices (Phase 2).

Responsibilities but not limited to the following: -

1. Upkeep of Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Module
2. Ensure timeliness in payment / collection to vendors / customers
3. Issuance of Debit and Credit Notes
4. Maintain petty cash vouchers and preparation of expenses claim and record transactions into accounting system
5. Arranging payment to suppliers
6. Reconciliation of suppliers’ statement of accounts
7. To assist GST submission quarterly and reconciliation between accounting system and IRAS/Custom to meet MES compliance
8. Perform other duties as assigned

Prerequisites:

• Diploma in accountancy, LCCI, CAT or its equivalent
• Familiar with Navision accounting system is a plus point
• Meticulous and willing to learn
• Proficient in MS office

The Asian School of the Environment at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in collaboration with the Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invite applications for a Research Assistant or Associate (RA) in blue carbon policy, to begin February 2025 or soon thereafter. The successful applicant will be hired through NTU, but will be based flexibly and will be part of the NParks Marine Climate Change Science project ‘A Blue Carbon Framework for Singapore’s national climate change policy (BlueCarbonSG)’ .

Research Assistant in Blue Carbon Policy

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Assistant (RA) will have knowledge of coastal ecosystem services, social sciences, carbon policy, environmental science, and/or similar coastal environmental issues at the policy-academic interface. They will work closely with a Research Fellow and project staff for the ‘National Carbon Accounting’ Work Package, as well as the PIs to ensure the requirements of the project work plan are met. The RA will be responsible for assisting with social science data collection, collation and analysis of carbon and climate policy data, and assisting with data management. The successful applicant will assist in all aspects of the work package. This will additionally include conducting literature reviews of relevant articles and information, managing and analyzing ecological and socioeconomic datasets related to blue carbon science and policy in Singapore, and conducting field work to collect new data.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree (second upper) in Environmental Science, Geography, Social Sciences or other related fields
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Positive working attitude, both in a team and independently

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the health, welfare, and proper care of marine animals by developing and implementing animal care protocols, monitoring animal behavior and health, and coordinating veterinary care.
• Ensure that all aspects of the facility, such as animal habitats, exhibits, and public areas, are well-maintained and comply with applicable regulations and standards.
• Contribute to conservation efforts and participate in research initiatives by collaborating with scientists and researchers to design and implement research projects, conservation programs, and breeding initiatives aimed at species preservation and ecological sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations and standards for marine zoological facilities.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations pertaining to animal welfare, safety, and environmental conservation and ensure that the facility meets all requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as marine biology, zoology, wildlife management, or equivalent, with at least 15 years’ experience in managing zoological operations, of which the last 8 years should be in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of zoological operations, including animal care, welfare, and conservation principles.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Strong leadership and management abilities in supervising and motivating a diverse team.
• Good track record in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Able to make critical decisions, solve problems, and delegate responsibilities effectively.
• Demonstrated expertise in animal care and welfare, including experience with a variety of marine and terrestrial species.
• Knowledge of behavioral management, enrichment techniques, veterinary care, and animal training methods.
• In-depth understanding and strong experience in conservation programs, research initiatives, and breeding programs related to species preservation, habitat management, and environmental sustainability.
• Excellent working knowledge of local, national, and international regulations and standards related to animal welfare, safety, and environmental conservation.
