We are seeking to recruit a proactive and motivated research assistant to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research assistant, you will assist with conducting and monitoring microalgal cultivation bioprocesses via analytical techniques to achieve maximal product titres, yields, and rates. • Liaise with Client / Consultant / Sub-contractors / Suppliers on contractual matters including payment claims, change orders, variation orders, extension of time, etc.
• Manage and prepare all contract documentation and agreement, as well as provide support in the drafting of specifications, bills of quantities and other tender requirements。
• Oversee the preparation and monitoring of project cost budget, cash-flow cash-flow for project, track changes in design/construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly。
• Manage contracts including progress and variation payment claims, change orders, variation orders, extension of time, etc。
• Work closely with the project team to ensure timely award and payment of subcontractors and suppliers。
• Manage and monitor all financial aspects including but not limited to budget & cost control of Projects assigned and ensure project runs within budget。
• Source, liaise, compile and evaluate quotations from respective subcontractors according to requirement, specification and time schedule including drafting of Subcontract Document.
• Evaluate all VO claims from sub-contractors and ensure all the variation orders are carried out in order & according to proper procedure.
• Effective follow up on payment certificate to sub-contractors and payment advice to client
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirement

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveyor
• Min 5-year of experience in Quantity Surveyor or relevant for luxury landed house project.
• Familiar with various high-end materials used for luxury house.
• Able to communicate and liaise with Chinese-speaking associate.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision, good knowledge in local standards & requirements.
• Familiar with AutoCAD & Revit.
