Reporting to Portfolio Manager, global Equity Markets, the incumbent will emphasize his/her knowledge of emerging financial markets and quantitative skills to contribute to managing Quantitative Management strategies in Growth Markets, with an emphasis on the Asian portion of these markets within the portfolio of the CDPQ's Equity Markets.
Responsibilities
· Monitor the market, macroeconomic and geopolitical environment, particularly in emerging markets, with an emphasis on Taiwan, Korea and China
· Assist portfolio managers in day-to-day management of Quantitative Management strategies by being the main contact point for the Taiwan, Korea and China strategies.
· Identify opportunities to generate yield by profiting from dislocations in these markets, through a set of strategies/instruments at its disposal
· Contribute to the development of Quantitative Management strategies, primarily in emerging equity markets, by combining quantitative approaches and fundamental analyses
· Meet with local partners (companies, brokers, portfolio managers)
· Align Montréal's office practices with that of Singapore
· As needed, contribute to the management of CDPQ's portfolio overall equity portfolio, including its risk level and exposures (factorial, geography, sectors, etc.)
· Gather, analyze and summarize available information from several sources on a specific topic or company.
· Provide purchase and sale recommendations to portfolio managers.
Requirements
· Training in Finance with solid knowledge of statistical and quantitative approaches commonly used in portfolio management and finance
· Two (2) years of relevant experience
· Demonstration of interest in equity markets
· Language programming skills (e.g. Python (preferred), R or MATLAB)
