Research Fellow, Science, Mathematics and Technology Cluster – LBELL group, to work on cutting-edge brain-inspired computing research as a member of the group that includes Desmond Loke and Yu Jiang. There will be a possibility to work with external collaborators for the deployment of brain-inspired computing algorithms.

Job Scope

• The candidate will join an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative team of Scientists and Engineers.
• Responsible for enhancing the LBELL group's capability in brain-inspired computing development, and design of algorithms, overseeing model development and technology use, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
• Communicating results to the scientific community through publications and presentations; and
• Supervising undergraduate students and laboratory technicians.

Job requirements

Required: a Ph.D. in mathematics, computer science or a related field; prior experience with machine learning, programming is required; experience with software system; strong interpersonal and oral presentation skills; self-motivation; and attention to detail. Must be able to follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment, contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team, execute detailed technical procedures meticulously, and prioritise and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment. SUTD invites applications for a Research Fellow position in a research project to develop intelligent, secure, and resilient future communications systems. In particular, to support a diverse set of use cases with ever-increasing requirements, the architectural design of 5G and future 6G systems emphasizes software-defined reconfigurability and AI-enabled intelligent operations. Open RAN --- as a generic term used by the community for an open radio access network architecture --- is viewed as a promising way to achieve this design objective. While open RAN promotes interoperable interfaces, RAN virtualization, and support for big data and AI-enabled RAN, its success requires us to overcome multiple challenges --- in particular, how to build intelligence and adaptability into such a system while still providing high assurance regarding its security and resilience. Our project aims to lay a solid foundation for designing secure and resilient open RAN systems.

A research fellow or postdoctoral researcher is needed in NRF ANR project to work on the new nanostructured materials for energy storage materials. The project is to understand the catalytic effect based nanomaterials ad their applications in the anode materials of lithium ion batteries.

We request to hire a PhD degree holder in the research field of material science and chemical engineering. The researcher is requested to work with the team on the preparation of the materials and evaluation of the prototype performance in the field.

He/she will design materials and devices. He will be in charge of materials synthesis, characterization and final prototype evaluation. Required skills include multiple fabrication and characterization tools in material science including various deposition techniques, SEM, XRD, Raman, electrochemical evaluation systems. Desired skills include research experience in energy storage, electrode design, and ion intercalation process.

Responsibilities:

• Support global NPI (New Product Introduction) on product design and development.

Job responsibilities

• Based on the technical specifications of the products provided by the customers or by the internal teams, carry out the CAD drawings of all the products families (smartcards, antennas, IC substrates, medical, IOT):

1. With 1 or 2 copper layers or with multi-layers of copper
2. Under Autocad and Gerber environment

• According to the internal best practices for compatibility with internal process and cost optimization
• Carry out the drawing of the toolings for the local manufacturing of the new prototypes or for the local manufacturing of the first production lots of the new products
• Prepare the drawings for the punching tool and the artworks
• Interface with the toolings suppliers
• Inform the internal teams about the launching of the toolings (especially incoming inspection)
• Follow-up of the suppliers leadtime for the delivery of the toolings
• Update Technical information in Linxens data base
• Cross check design of other drafters
• Suggest adjustments designs taking into account the customer's specifications and internal rules of manufacturing
• Liaise with counterparts of Drafter team on other plant for cross sharing information and back up activity
• Understand plating software simulation tool to better design smartcard products / Understand RF software simulation tool to better design antennas

Our team at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is looking at generative AI models for music. You will be joining our Audio, Music, and AI (AMAAI) Lab supervised by Prof. Dorien Herremans. At our lab, we aim to advance the state-of-the-art in AI for music and audio. You will work within a group of design experts interfacing with layout, overseas design teams to create detailed specifications, innovative designs to meet the technological requirements, achieving sales and ultimately doing our part for empowering electrification of vehicles and enabling Metaverse; contributing to achieve carbon neutrality for our future generations.

Key responsibilities:

· Planning and designing IC block or system architecture based on design requirements

· Perform circuit design/analysis, simulation based on specs

· Prepare and discuss circuit, results of design in design reviews

· Conduct IC verification on bench to check IC performance with respect to design

· Work with layout engineer for device level design to realize best circuit response

· Work with application engineers to support customer application issues

Requirements:

· PHD/Masters/Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering or equivalent

· Possess experiences working in IC design environment

· Good analytical skills and technical skills in analog/digital function circuits such as switch capacitor amplifier, AD converter, high voltage power supply design : DCDC, LDO, chargepump, high precision reference BGR, oscillator, amplifier, comparator, etc

· Experience in developing IC and proficient in design tools usage (Cadence/Synopsys)

· Familiar with Lab measurement and characterization equipment

· Silicon debugging skills to solve design issues
