• Preparation and drafting of Alum and Steel works/ Technical drawings for projects, tender submissions, etc.

• Space planning, conceptual design development and detailing

• Produce detail drawings and specifications for construction independently

• Liaise and coordinate with contractors, suppliers and vendors

• Ensure designs/drawings meet relevant code and compliance requirements, and good engineering practices.

• Able to do Qty take off and Cutting list

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum 1-3 years of work experience in drafting of Alum and Steel works/Technical drawings in architectural, construction related industries.

• Must have at least 3 years experience / knowledge of REVIT

• Competent in AutoCAD & good knowledge in SolidWorks (3D)

Job Description:

You will participate in the specification, design and design maintenance of high-tech mechanic system solutions for professional mechatronic equipment, and enable optimal functionality and cost effective engineering of those systems. You are a highly talented and ambitious engineer with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering. VDL offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities to travel abroad. You will participate in the following phases for system (re)design projects:

• Quotation Phase: create a plan with scope, cost and lead time estimation together with the project team and the customer
• Feasibility phase: consolidate customer requirement specifications into an investigation of the feasibility of mechanical concepts
• Definition Phase: develop Description of System Design Requirements and Specifications.
• System Design Phase: generation of system design concepts and reviews
• Develop well-considered choices, validated against system requirements
• Definition of high level modules and related technical interfaces
• Monitor that projects stay within agreed specifications
• Make use of your creativity and helicopter view to find solutions in case of conflicts.
• Detail Phase: create 3-D models and drawings
• System integration and verification: verify design / the chosen concept on the requirements by means of functional models or (pre-)proto production
• Production release: release the design for production

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Electro-mechanical engineering, preferably with a focus on motion systems
• Knowledge of electric design principles of cabling, connectors, safety systems, electronic racks, PCB design
• User of 3D design tools and schematic drawing tools (e.g. NX, SolidWorks, E-Plan)
• Basic programming skills and ability to debug electrical systems
• Understanding of motion control systems
• Helicopter view, abstract thinking and ability to think out-of-the box
• An effective communicator
• Fluent in English, both speaking and writing
• Willingness to travel overseas and cooperate with the European mother company

Job scope:

- surface preparation work (e.g. removing old grout and cement and cleaning and levelling surfaces)

- laying tiles in accordance with tiling plan, cutting tiles where necessary

- grouting gaps between tiles

- any other duties as may be required

AAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline required.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Factory Automation field.
• Experience with Solidwork 3D preferred
• Hands-on experience with design, assembly and/or fabrication of mechanical parts preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Writing must be clear and unambiguous.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and creative approach for generating new ideas.
• An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles.
