The successful candidate will be experienced in teaching Chinese; including First Language, to this age group. The appointee will be joining a large and highly collaborative Chinese department as well as a broader languages team that includes French, Spanish, Korean, German, Dutch and Japanese teachers.

Person Specifications

• A good degree and a recognised teaching qualification or certification are expected.
• Experience of teaching IBDP Chinese A and B would be highly desirable, and experience or interest in curriculum development is advantageous.
• The ability to engage with students and to engender enthusiasm for learning is a prerequisite for teaching at UWCSEA.

Job Description

The Lieutenant Curator (or LC for short) will support the Head Curator in managing the education team in the Dempsey club, supporting on day-to-day duties and inspiring the teaching team.

Job Description

• Support teachers in lesson preparation and the implementation of lesson plan (eg. able to conduct small group teaching)
• Support teachers to achieve and monitor students’ individualised goals and objectives
• Assist students in areas of self-care and grooming
• Support teachers in collecting data on behaviour and progress of students, whenever necessary
• Collaborate and support teachers in classroom management matters such as planning and implementing student’s behaviour plans, lesson progress, etc
• Liaise with external stakeholders (including families/caregivers and community partners) to facilitate administrative processes
