As a manager of our workshop repair operations, and to support our filed service we are employing a Workshop Manager as follows:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Must be able to solve technical issues in relation to complex machinery/fabrication works repairs for internal and external stakeholders
• Capable of negotiating and communicating effectively with clients, as well as managing tenders, proposals, and quotations
• Oversee and ensure the successful execution of all workshop activities, coordinating efforts to complete contracts within budget and the established timeframe
• Ensure that the quality of all repair/fabrication work carried out conforms to the client’s specifications and to the Company’s quality system
• Offer consistent feedback and reporting, both informal and formal, to Management regarding the performance and outcomes of the workshop
• Recruit & train workshop personnel

REQUIREMENTS:

• Solid working experience and proven track record as Workshop Manager in a Ship Yard, Port, Marine Engineering company or a Construction Company
• Previous sailing experience and qualification as Chief Engineer, sailing on oceangoing ships will be an added advantage
• Understanding of Engineering Regulations, norms and clads requirements
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chief Engineer's licence or similar
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with Customers worldwide
• Experience in cost calculation and personnel management skill

• Responsible for periodic progress reports
• Evaluate the master programme and monitor work progress

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Product Development Manager with over 10 years of experience specializing in the design and development of automation products for bioenvironmental applications. This position focuses on driving innovative projects in Industrial Automation, Bio-Environmental Monitoring, and Consumer Electronics, managing the complete product development lifecycle to deliver high-quality, technically advanced, and manufacturable solutions.

You will bring in-depth knowledge of electronics, embedded systems, full-system automation, and mechanical integration to design and guide fabrication teams, producing innovative products and prototypes for industrial and academic clients.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Development & Lifecycle Management

• Lead the entire product lifecycle, from concept creation to batch mass production, ensuring on-time delivery and cost-effectiveness.

2. Circuit Design

• Design and develop high-performance analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits, focusing on low-noise designs, high-resolution ADC/DACs, and high-speed communication interfaces.

3. PCB Design & Manufacturing

• Execute PCB design using tools like Altium Designer, incorporating Design for Manufacturability (DfM) and Design for Testability (DfT) principles.

4. Embedded Systems Development

• Program and debug firmware for microcontrollers (MCUs) and system-on-chips (SoCs), optimizing for performance and energy efficiency.

5. Data Communication Systems

• Develop robust communication protocols, including I²C, SPI, RS232, RS485, and other bus systems, integrating sensor networks and actuator controls.

6. Mechanical Integration

• Collaborate with and review mechanical designs using tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ensuring seamless electronic-mechanical compatibility.

7. System Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), tolerance analysis, reliability testing, and EMI/EMC validation to meet regulatory and quality standards.

8. Bio diagnostics

• Apply hands-on expertise in bio diagnostics, driving the development, testing, and optimization of diagnostic tools and processes.

9. Prototyping & Troubleshooting

• Oversee prototype development, testing, and root-cause analysis to resolve hardware and firmware issues promptly.

10. Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Work closely with mechanical, software, and quality assurance teams to deliver integrated and cohesive product designs.

11. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure adherence to ISO standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Technical Expertise:

• Proficient in Altium Designer; experience with OrCAD or Eagle is a plus.
• Advanced programming skills in C, C++, and Python, with experience in embedded systems and RTOS environments.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital design principles, including power electronics and high-frequency PCB layouts.
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, FPGA programming, and single-board computers (e.g., Raspberry Pi).
• Expertise in communication protocols: I²C, SPI, RS232, RS485, UART, and their applications in IoT systems.
• Experience in sensor integration, including temperature sensors, photo detectors, and flow meters.
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools for cross-disciplinary collaboration; SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred.
• Practical experience in GUI development and familiarity with Linux-based environments (e.g., Ubuntu).
• Knowledge of P&ID diagrams, microfluidic system design, and control methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in (D)FMEA, design optimization, and quality management systems.
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience in bioprocessing systems, particularly in E. coli detection and diagnostics.
• Expertise in developing and implementing diagnostic methods for microbial monitoring, including biosensors and other analytical tools.

Industry Expertise:

• Experience in water quality monitoring systems and microbial monitoring technologies.
• Familiarity with fluidic control systems, including valves, pumps, and flow control mechanisms.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical concepts effectively.
• Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

This position of Business Development Manager is for Career Conversion Program (CCP), events and membership sales. The candidate is expected to be involved in a blend of sales and business development activities with sales acumen and business development skills.

Job Scope:

• Identify potential clients from our members or advance manufacturing companies.
• Work with marketing to generate potential leads through various channels such as networking events, cold calls, email campaigns, and attending industry conferences and seminars.
• Build and maintain good relationships with members and potential clients, understand their business plans, and provide consultative solutions to drive the CCP placements. This is involves customer relationship management and business development experience.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to bring in more companies to join overseas exhibitions under Singapore Pavilion. Candidate would work with event organisers to gather more companies and get government grant assistance through the association.
• Responsible to increase revenue and achieve sales targets while expanding the client base for the association's events and membership sales.
• Prepare proposals and presentations to showcase how companies can benefit from the programmes and value-add services as an AutomationSG member.
• Identify opportunities to expand into new markets or industries by analyzing market trends and landscape
• Work closely with marketing and secretariat team to provide clients' feedback and market trending to grow revenue.

Training on the requirement of CCP will be provided to assist the BD manager develop a understanding of the programme. On events sponsorship, association will share some of the past customer listing. However, candidate is expected to also carry out aggressive business development initiatives.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree or advance diploma in a relevant field with minimum 3 years working experience. Experience in a sales or human resource recruitment role related to technology or engineering industry is a plus.
• Strong project management and organization skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise; work towards delivering the targets within the datelines and schedule
• Good negotiation skills and customer management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail to ensure proper and complete documentation
