Position purpose

Part of The Global Distribution team, the Area Asia Pacific GBU Pharma Channel Manager is responsible for developing and executing the GBU business plans that align with our corporate channel strategy involving the Outbound Channel. The “Outbound” objective is to profitably increase Roquette market share through the expansion and growth of our dealer network(s) in the region and improve the Distribution Management productivity. He participates to the on/off boarding of Distributors, to the transfer of some customer to Distributors and to the definition of Distribution rules, methods and tools. To be fully integrated to the GBU and implement it sales policy. This position steer and execute all daily operational sales targets (Prices, Volume, Budget, etc…).

Key accountabilities

Be the Roquette ambassador for external preferred distributors

Develop and Implement

• Manage and lead Distributors as an external sales force
• Ensure profitable growth through distributor network
• Define yearly budget, sales objectives and specific growth targets for Distributors
• Develop Sales and marketing programs dedicated to Distribution, in a close liaison with marketing and technical developer teams
• Define and negotiate contracts, and follow through the execution process
• Participate to internal processes designed to improve the support of our channel business
• Establish new relationships that focus on Roquette’s new market segments

Role Overview:

Provide guidance and oversight of classification, certification, and statutory survey work within the Region/ Worldwide. Responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of the survey work within the Region/ Worldwide and verifying compliance with the applicable ABS and statutory requirements as appropriate.

Job Duties/Roles

1. Acts as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related rules, regulations, requirements, concepts, principles and processes.

2. Stays up-to-date with ABS Rules, Guides, and Statutory requirements.

3. Develops guidance and training for survey staff on implementation and application of ABS Rules, Guides, and Statutory requirements.

4. Makes survey-related presentations to the Surveyors within the region on a regular basis.

5. Provides oversight through activity monitoring of ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System. Provides input to the regional (Senior) Vice President on survey manpower requirements including quality, quantity, experience, training, and professionalism of Surveyors within the region.

6. Responsible for maintaining the organization, staffing, training and day-to-day operations of the Assistant Chief Surveyor’s office in order to carry out assigned functions. Makes changes to organization, staffing, and budgets, as conditions warrant, with the approval of the regional (Senior) Vice President.

7. Appraises the performance and development potential of direct subordinates and recommends appropriate compensation adjustments.

8. Serves as a member of the regional Quality Steering Committee and Management Review Board.

9. Provides input for survey-related Rule changes.

10. Attends Regional Technical Committees, as necessary, and assist in presentations of survey-related matters.

11. May assist region marketing effort at trade shows and other occasions, as directed by the regional (Senior) Vice President.

12. May make survey-related presentations at trade seminars and Technical Societies, as directed by the regional (Senior) Vice President.

13. May attend meetings of IMO, IACS, TSCF, and other bodies, as directed by the Vice President/Chief Surveyor and/or regional (Senior) Vice President and/or Corporate Executive Vice President and COO.

14. Provides guidance to ABS clients by means of meetings and/or seminars on changes to ABS Rules and Regulatory requirements.

15. Provides input on budgets and business planning when requested by the regional (Senior) Vice President.

16. Keep Vice President/Chief Surveyor and regional (Senior) Vice President advised of major survey-related problems in the region. Provide other input and data as requested by the Vice President/Chief Surveyor

17. Responsible for maintaining the port state control database of detained and/or intervened ABS classed vessels in the region. Liaise with the MOU Regimes, as necessary regarding ABS classed vessels that have been detained by the Port State Authorities.

18. Serves as a member of the Regional Safety Committee.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)

1. Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.

2. Ability to read engineering plans and have a basic understanding of shipbuilding practices and vessel operations.

3. Ability to perform surveys in the prescribed format.

4. Knowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities.

5. Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.

6. Knowledge of ships' engineering systems and machinery.

Minimum years of Experience

1. Minimum three (3) years’ experience working as Principal Surveyor or Lead Surveyor.

2. An exceptional Comprehensive understanding of ABS strategic technical positioning in their respective sector of the marine industry.

3. International assignment or significant exposure to international processes, requirements, business issues and problem resolution.

4. Possesses and demonstrates a mastery of the comprehensive body of knowledge in Survey operations.

Required/Preferred Education Requirements

1. Qualifications from a tertiary institution within a relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum two (2) years program); or

2. Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant seagoing experience as a certificated ship officer, and

3. Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of statutory certification and services and, before assignment, with their future work.
