Job Responsibilities:

As an NAVH Triage officer, you will help to attend to violence-related enquiries that come through the NAVH. You will be involved in supporting the following tasks required to right site these violence-related calls:

• Engage caller to understand severity of situation
• Gather and verify information with other sources
• (e.g. schools, family members, relatives, government databases)
• Conduct risk and safety assessment for cases
• Determine response time and right-siting of cases
• Engage agencies to ensure warm transfer of cases
• Engage key family members to work with an agency

Requirements:

Functional/Technical Competencies

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline preferred
• Good written and communication skills
• Ability to converse in mother tongues e.g. Malay, Tamil and Mandarin, an advantage

Generic Competencies

• Able to work calmly in highly stressful situations and environment
• Good engagement, assessment, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
