Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead and oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of data engineering solutions in the financial services industry. Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and DevelopmentLead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines.

• Innovation and Best PracticesStay updated on the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to enhance the organization’s capabilities.
  Establish and promote best practices for data engineering, including version control, testing, and documentation.
  
• Project Management and DeliveryOversee multiple data engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
  Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources efficiently.
  

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of data requirements and challenges specific to the sector.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines using tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or similar.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including data-related services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins).

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering practical and scalable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial data, risk modeling, or compliance-related data engineering.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality best practices.
• Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS Certified Data Analytics, Azure Data Engineer, etc.).
