Job Description
In the NUS IT Enterprise Services team, we provide platforms, services and tools to deliver common technology capabilities used by systems that cut across multiple application towers (e.g. administrative, student and academic, faculty and research, corporate solutions, and HR/Finance), infrastructure and security.
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to oversee delivery, ongoing enhancements and support of products under the Enterprise Services portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for both in-house developed and COTS software solutions across the portfolio.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across NUS IT to identify common needs and opportunities for shared solutions, gather and prioritize requirements for software features and enhancements.
- Ensure that products align with wider IT strategy and goals.
- Partner with architecture and engineering teams to define and maintain technical standards, reusable components, and architectural principles.
- Drive decision-making around product investments, retirement, and consolidation opportunities across the portfolio.
- Establish success metrics and KPIs for evaluating product performance, adoption and business impact.
- Gather and synthesize feedback, market research, and analytics to inform product decisions.
- Stay updated on similar products in the market to keep our offerings competitive and relevant.
- Work closely with engineering team to create prototypes and proof-of-concepts to increase the chances of successful implementations.
- Define and operationalise support model for products across the portfolio.
Qualifications
Experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 10 years within IT industry, inclusive of 3+ years in a technical role, and 7+ years’ experience in project and/or product management.
- Good grasp of modern IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
- Strong business process and analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management, users and vendors.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must be a good team player, proactive in nature, fast learner, highly organized and positive attitude.
- Certification in PMP or CITPM will be an added advantage.
- Certification in Product Management (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner) will be an added advantage.
- Experience in Higher Education industry is a bonus.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in Power BI for creating dashboards and reports.
- To effectively work and communicate with both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders, knowledge of any of the following is an added advantage:
- Cloud platforms - at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS or GCP) and services offered, differences between cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and performing cost analysis for cloud services.
- IT Service Management practices, processes and tools.
- Identity and access management (IAM) systems and concepts – e.g. OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect protocols, SSO, MFA, user provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Enterprise integration technologies and tools - e.g. Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platforms, API management platforms and message brokers
- Experience with generative AI technologies is an added advantage:
- Using and/or integrating AI services via APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or similar platforms)
- Knowledge of prompt engineering techniques
- Conceptual understanding of large language models, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, etc
- Experience with customer engagement platforms and systems is an added advantage:
- Email service providers and deliverability management
- User feedback collection and analysis systems
