Castlery is seeking for a curious and motivated Category Management Specialist to join our Category team.
As a Category Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in executing and enhancing home furnishing related category plans. You will be the right-hand man to the Category Planning Manager in category assortment expansion goals, optimizing product mix, and ensuring the successful delivery of market-leading products.
You will also support cross-functional teams within Castlery to bridge the technical, design and business aspects of each product launch. This role demands a dynamic individual with expertise in category planning, product management, and comprehensive involvement in the end-to-end product development lifecycle to create a comprehensive and relevant product assortment for our customers.
What you’ll be doing
- You will execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the overall category strategy to drive the expansion of product category.
- You will collaborate with the category merchandising team to identify and capture emerging opportunities within the market. Stay abreast of market trends, customer needs, and industry innovations to provide valuable insights contributing to the overall category strategy.
- You will manage the end-to-end product development process, ensuring alignment with design visions, quality standards, production requirements and market demands.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to execute category plans and align with overall product roadmaps. Ensure products are launched on time through close collaboration with category merchandising, product design, buying and quality teams.
- You will liaise with marketing and sales teams to optimize the product mix and contribute to the development of go-to-market strategies. Work collaboratively to create comprehensive and customer centric product positioning and use cases.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Design/ Business/ Product Management/ Merchandising/ Economics or equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of consumer product development experience, preferably experience in commercial product design, curation, or styling. Proven success in launching and developing products within a competitive market.
- Experience in home décor categories such as lighting and mirrors is a strong plus, with a preference for expertise in curating cohesive product assortments that harmonize with furniture and enhance various room styles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, emerging trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with vendors.
- Proactive, ‘can do’ mentality combined with a track record of successful execution of strategies and activities.
- Ability to work independently in a highly ambiguous, dynamic growth environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
