Senior Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Manager on the progress of the projects/site works and manpower related aspects of the project. He/She is to oversee drawing management and make sure the updated drawings to the clients and subcontractor are issued. This also includes planning and coordinating technical engineering initiatives to make sure a project can be completed within budget and according to schedule, while upholding project standards by researching compliance regulations, developing project implementation plans and adjusting specifications for elements of a project.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and schedule work sequences for construction operation
• To study tender / construction drawings, specifications and contracts to understand project requirements
• Liaise with consultants, clients & main/sub-contractors and coordinate for site activities arrangement, design submission and work progress supervision

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist Principal Project Manager (PRPM)/ Senior Project Manager (SPM)/ Project Manager (PM) in day-to-day management of the contract

• Advise the PRPM/SPM/PM on site quality and safety issues.

• Determine any non-conformances on works

•Liaise with Contractor to rectify any non-conformances and document them properly

• Ensure that decisions on site issues are conveyed to the Contractor within a reasonable time frame.

• Ensure that works are carried out according to specifications, drawings and programme without compromising on quality and safety

• Provide feedback to the PRPM/SPM/PM on quality and safety matters and suggest quality improvement measures for implementation on site

• Supervise installation of instrumentation and monitoring of instrumentation

• Lead a team of supervisors to ensure full time supervision of works on site by supervisor /client

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in project/construction environment

• Proficient in relevant software programmes for planning and project work

• Pro-active team player with good analytical and communication skills

•Required to have at least 2 years of viaduct and/or flyover construction experience

About the role

• Work as the Design Engineer to our LTA projects
• To review of contractor’s Design and Construction submission and comment
• To assist the SDE in the review of design submissions

Responsibilities will include:

• To attend design meeting and all other relevant meetings as and when required
• To give suggestion in construction sequence based on the design reviews
• To follow PGI on rotational basis with the SDE
• To review Shop Drawings and comment if any

About You

• At least five (5) years of relevant experience on projects similar in nature to the Works in the Civil Contract
• At least five (5) years in the design of structural and/or geotechnical works for deep excavation projects of a similar size and complexity
• Experience in working in a structural engineering team within a large multi discipline project team.
• Experience in minimum facility platform design and including the substructure, topsides and bridges.
• Ability to meet agreed deadlines
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of team.
• Familiarity of Singapore local codes & standards
