Job Purpose

The Manager ensures that all mechanical and electrical projects are completed successfully, meeting client requirements, safety standards and within the allocated budget and timeline. Responsibilities:

Assists Project Manager in the co-ordination of project management activities to ensure that projects are executed in a smooth and effective manner;

Attends external project meetings, meetings with consultants as well as technical and co-ordination meetings, daily project meetings and internal project closure meeting;

Assists Project Manager in carrying out all shop drawings and submission with Drafting Department;

Assists Project Manager in carrying out risk assessment and other risk management activities;

Ensures all contractors are safety inducted and issued with Permit before work commencement;

Ensures the adherence to the safe work procedure (SWP) established;

Resolves site problems proactively in a timely manner and seeks advice from Project Manager as appropriate;

Ensures the timely preparation of project progress and other reports;

Follows up on all aspects of QA/QC matters;

Co-ordinates daily activities of workers’ duties and to ensure that they are performed in a proper manner;

Makes daily checks on work progress, housekeeping and safety implementation on site with safety personnel;

Order materials required for projects;

Ensures proper project documentation including email communication;

Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in building construction

Possess the relevant safety certifications like SCWSH / BCSS

Candidate must possess at least Diploma or Degree in Architecture / Civil Engineering / Construction or related courses

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing school projects under the Ministry of Education (MOE).
• Develop and implement project plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project components.
• Monitor project timelines and report deviations to the Project Manager promptly.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, reports, and correspondence.
• Prepare regular progress updates and presentations for schools and MOE.
• Organize and archive all project-related documents systematically.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries.
• Facilitate communication among the Project Manager, team members, and external stakeholders.
• Organize project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
• Support budget preparation and generate financial reports for the project.
• Oversee procurement processes, including obtaining quotations and processing purchase orders.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance.

Job Requirement(s):

• Diploma in Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or equivalent qualification.
• Membership with the Society of Project Managers Singapore is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant local experience in project management.
• Standby for Saturday & Sunday for exigence.
• Experience in managing building and A&A contractors.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, governance, organization and management of the project team
• Responsible for project team resource planning, recruitment, training & development and retention
• Plan and recruit Project Engineers / Designers / Drafters as per the demand
• Develop, coach, guide and train the Project Engineers / Designer / Drafters
• Manage Half-yearly & yearly appraisal process for the project team for their professional & career development
• Responsible for execution all assigned projects with respect to Safety, Quality, Design, Procurement, Construction, Contractual, Budget, Schedule and Resources
• Ensure competent / qualified Project Engineer / Designer / Drafter assignment to the project
• Ensure project execution compliance in accordance to PQP
• Manage all project stakeholders (Owners, Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, Third Parties & Internal Team) for smooth project execution
• Approve Purchase Requisitions / Invoices on-time for issuing PO & payment to suppliers
• Project Cost control (including site expenditure) to ensure profit margin for the projects
• Ensure additional works are carried out with Variation Order Request approval from customer
• Manage cash flow of the assigned projects by ensuring regular progress claims submission & approval relating to the work progress at site
• Achieve all assigned projects’ objectives (Project On time delivery, Project Cost less than the allocated budget etc.)
• Escalate challenges to MD appropriately to resolve it on time
• Conduct regular meetings with the Project Team on Project status update
• Other adhoc duties as assigned.

Requirement

• Degree / Master in Electrical Engineering
• Proficiency in various software such as MS Office, MS Projects/Primavera
• Min 5 years of working experiences in related field
• Possess effective organizational and follow-up skills, meticulous
• Good interpersonal skills and able to interface with all levels, internally and externally, in a professional and responsive manner
• Experience in LTA projects will be an advantage.
