The Business Architect is based in Singapore, in a Regional HQ (RHQ) organization, supporting the Group’s subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific Region. The ideal candidate builds and maintains mutually beneficial relationships, facilitates communications, and coordinates the Group’s global IT, as well as regional IT strategies with all subsidiaries in the AP region.

Possessing deep technical knowledge and experience in one or more of the following:

• Business application design and implementation.
• Promotion of digitization in the workplace.

The Business Architect acts as the subject matter expert in RHQ, providing advice, including pre-information, consulting expertise to help Business Divisions and subsidiaries to accurately understand the subject, ensuring IT solutions support business needs, and reduce potential conflict(s) and misunderstanding amongst stakeholders.

As one of the key contacts between Global HQ (GHQ) in Japan, and AP subsidiaries, the Business Architect is self-motivated and capable of promptly and effectively monitor, coordinate and communicate strategic objectives. The Business Architect collaborates with various stakeholders to facilitate communication and guide change initiatives, aiming to enhance organizational agility and productivity.

KEY TASKS:

1.Develop Business Architecture Strategy

• Analyse various subsidiaries and its business scenarios and motivations.
• Create a structured approach to capture critical value streams of the organisation.

2.Coordinate deployment of Group IT strategies / AP regional activities

• Serve as one of the focal points of contact between Global HQ (GHQ) and AP subsidiaries, maintaining close communications among these groups. Deft in balancing the conflicting demands of global, regional and local entities.
• Identify problems in communications among AP subsidiaries and GHQ IT personnel. Manage IT projects from launch to implementation and provide support until the process is established. Assist different stakeholders to understand each other’s perspectives, and situations to contribute to shaping a better and realistic strategy.

3.Support digital transformation (DX) initiates in the AP region

• Coordinate and/or collaborate with business representatives in AP subsidiaries to accelerate DX initiatives.

4.Coordinate GHQ driven surveys in the AP region

• Facilitate and ensure required information from AP subsidiaries are provided on time. Support the evaluation of the data to ensure correct conclusions are reached. Support IT organizations in making business case to GHQ on IT investments.
• Guide IT organization or Business Division in ensuring key indices, such as cost estimates, project milestones, ROI, are captured in business cases.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project management.
• Hands-on experience in all phases of Business DX projects implementation from start to end; (i.e., Problem definition/discovery -> Planning-> Requirement/Initial Design -> Development -> Operation).
• Possess experience in creating documents such as business process design, business requirement definition, external/internal design documents, and UAT for IT projects.
• Experienced in providing business consulting to business divisions.
• Possess ITIL Foundation certification.
• Effective in a variety of communication settings, 1-on-1, small and large groups, among diverse styles and position levels.
• Enjoys working with data, analysis, and the development of hypothesis and solutioning.

Requirements

• Experience of working on cross border payments processing system or Payment Engine. Hands-on experience in GPP payment engine
• End-to-End payments system knowledge with detailed insights on payment file format ISO20022 and SWIFT. Experience with payments field/value mapping and validations.
• Hands on experience on payment systems and exposure to Payments Hub, Clearing and Settlement, Automated clearing house programs and channels.
• Extensive knowledge on payment life-cycle (Client <> Clearing) for High Value, Payments. Also, experience on handling R-Msgs.
• Proficient in Functional & System Integration testing of banking and financial applications, User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Software Testing LifeCycle
• Break FSD & EPICs into developable stories for developers by creating linkage & traceability of requirements.
• Should have high experience in creating Cucumber test cases (gherkin) & working with developers in Behavior Driven Development (BDD).
• Functional automation of Test cases using SOAP UI / Selenium and other automation tools
• Should be experienced on Agile tools (Atlassian), BA tools (MS Word, Excel, MS Visio), QA tools and standard documents
• Ownership & requirements management: Create, Maintain & periodically update specifications documents.
• Knowledge of all phases of IT system development and implementation life cycle
• Highly analytical and detail oriented in approach with Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience converting highly complex information into clear, concise documentation.

Responsibilities

Stakeholder Relationship Management
a. Acts as a trusted advisor for business for all new business demands requiring technology or operations enablement / solution
b. Prioritize business requests and co-create Business Roadmap with business segments
c. Supports Biz T&O Head for project pipeline, pre-project planning activities, QR prioritization
d. Supports effective business change by building relationships with business leaders, technology and operational business partners

2. High Level Solutioning
a. Develop high-level solution to illustrate feasibility of achieving target business outcomes
b. Aligning high-level solution with organizational technology roadmap and strategy working in consultation with enterprise architecture and business technology services teams
c. Work effectively with the business users and internal technology teams to ensure all aspects of the business requirement is defined and analysed
d. Initiate the implementation plan for Group T&O projects. This will include all activities that the business needs to do to prepare for new operation process and technical components.

3. Change Implementation Planning & Management
a. Undertake scoping and evaluation of new initiatives. Defining overall considerations, including scalability, maintainability, cost, operations and technology principal risk to provide a recommendation
b. Collaborate with cross-functional and technical teams including business analysts, solution architect, business technology services teams, and testing teams to define/clarify requirements
c. Work with business technology services team on the smooth delivery of the solution
d. Review Test Scenarios, help plan and support the user acceptance testing and help address any issues. Ensures that there is a business perspective on how the new operations and technical capabilities will be delivered to the business.
e. Spot potential problems, recognize the risk impact and propose risk mitigation strategies.

4. Managing RUN
a. Manage the communication and regular updates to business stakeholders on ‘critical’ production incidents and problems impacting customer and business operations
b. Regular review with business on system stability, responsiveness, production incident, problem tickets including identification of root cause.
c. Track for continuous improvement. Ensure early identification and resolution of challenges impacting BAU systems.
d. Monitoring the fulfilment of service levels between GTO and the business segments and highlighting required actions to close gaps where needed

5. Sustainable Improvements
a. Build a sustainable process for measuring benefits to ensure T&O resources are aligned to business initiatives which provide the highest ROI.
b. Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
