RtMI Coal Division and FRM Division (“DIVISION”) has the headquarter function of Coal and FRM’s global trading business in Mitsubishi Corporation (“MC Headquarters”) with sitting along with global head of DIVISION.

DIVISION operates global-basis business by leveraging the regional offices based in Japan, China, America, Europe, India and other regions. DIVISION also tries to expand its business by providing various value-added scheme (in logistic, derivative etc.) to global counterparties, which contains complicated business scheme with various risk factors.

Under this global basis business model, it is important to equip DIVISION with the robust framework / structure of risk management. Middle office is responsible to establish such foundation under DIVISION by supporting global head, and to monitor various risk factors and PL under its trading portfolio, through communicating with various stakeholders such as traders in DIVISION, colleagues in corporate division in RtMI, employees in regional offices and MC Headquarters. To fulfill this responsibility of Middle Office, Senior Manager is expected to play an essential role to manage communications with relevant stakeholders written above and his/her subordinates in Middle Office, and to enhance DIVISON’s own risk management capability by introducing the best structure of DIVISION.

Additionally, this position will be involved as one of the key members in discussions on further strengthening RtMI’s Middle Office’s function, to be the 1.5 line of defense to ensure financial accuracy, integrity, compliance of trading activities, allowing for effective monitoring, and to lead the execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. DIVISION's P&L and risk position report under global trading book (20%)

• To check the draft of daily P/L & Risk Position report prepared by subordinates in Mid Office (ultimate responsibility is under Employee), and support book owners, global head in DIVISION and RtMI’s management to make decision on trading activity, based on the said report.
• To answer detailed questions from RtM S&P / Market Risk team and MC Headquarters’ administrative Dept. (in Japanese language) in relation to abovementioned report.

2. DIVISION's risk management framework (20%)

• To establish suitable & global structure / framework / organization to enhance DIVISION’s ability to manage the risk appropriately, by obtaining the endorsement of global head and other relevant internal stakeholders.

3. DIVISION's business process management (20%)

• To manage / improve the daily business operation and be checker in particular key process, in order to ensure that traders’ daily activity is fully compliant with the internal / external requirement / regulation.
• To work closely with Corporate Governance Office in RtMI to maintain DIVISION’s Internal Control framework appropriately, which is required to be aligned with MC Headquarters’ standard in Internal Control framework, through close communication with relevant division in MC Headquarters in Japanese language.

4. Management and Internal coordination of applications/trade limits (20%)

• To assist the coordination of several types of limits and applications such as Credit Line, Parental Guarantee Requirement, Trading Risk Limit which are applied from DIVISON to RtMI EXECO / MC Headquarters both in English and Japanese.
• To be responsible that DIVISION operates within approved limits / applications, by obtaining the support from subordinates.

5. DIVISION's strategy & planning (10%)

• To assist the set-up of the KPI / commodity strategy and follow-up the progress, particularly for the risk management related item(s) both in English and Japanese.

6. Middle office's functional development (10%)

• To be involved in discussions on further strengthening Middle Office’s function, to be the 1.5 line of defense to ensure financial accuracy, integrity, compliance of trading activities, allowing for effective monitoring and lead the execution.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Degree from a recognized University.
• At least 10 years’ relevant experience in the mineral resources industry (Preferable if he/she has the experience in Coal (Thermal Coal and/or Metallurgical Coal) and/or Iron Ore industry)

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Accounting

• Key personnel in charge for accounting & Budget matters on Global basis, especially review of Parent Company’s numbers with taking contacts with the key persons in Japan who are Japanese Speaker. (Global basis: As RtMI is headquarter of RtM Group, RtMI is responsible to consolidate financial results and budgets on Global basis. Preparation of financial Budget or Forecast for Global basis.
• Monthly monitoring of actual result with Budget for Global Basis.
• Perform Profit and Loss analysis for management reports in Japanese.
• Support General Manager, head of Finance and Accounting in development and implementation of accounting treatments for certain transactions including derivative treatments.
• Collaborate with Parent Company and other regional offices to align accounting treatments. Especially, Parent Company’s OPEX analysis is one of important tasks with smooth communication in Japanese.

2. Risk Management

• Perform risk assessment for new transactions from the point of Accounting, Tax, Operational risk, and Internal Control.
• Communicate with Front offices well and anticipate potential risks from the transactions.

3. Tax

• Review and build the pricing policy of all cross-border related party transactions.
• Ensure compliance of all intercompany agreement requirements, calculations, payments for transfer pricing purpose, and complete the transfer pricing documentation of RtMI for each year
• Coordinate transactions of RtMI to be complied with Japanese CFC Taxation.
• Update relevant changes in tax regulation of Singapore and Japan and the consequential impacts to management continuously
• Support Singapore-Indian APA

4. Audit and Internal Control

• Response to internal control queries, requests including J-SOX, from Parent Company with making contacts to persons in charge for internal control in Parent Company.
• Review internal control documents like CLC & BLC and propose for changes if necessary.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors to provide information and field their queries.
• Ensure RtMI is kept up to date in terms of accounting standards by liasing with auditors
• Ensures compliance to internal control

5. Finance

• Collaborate with other departments for LC settlement and FX transactions

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Possess a degree from a recognized university or tertiary institute
• At least 4 to 8 years of experiences as an accountant and/or financial executive, preferably 2 to 3 years of experiences working as an accountant and/or financial executive in Japan due to complexity of Japan tax rules
• Business proficiency in both written and spoken Japanese in order to coordinate with headquarters and counterparties from Japan. Candidate is also required to create reports in Japanese for updates to the management in headquarters

a. Undertake scoping and evaluation of new initiatives. Defining overall considerations, including scalability, maintainability, cost, operations and technology principal risk to provide a recommendation

b. Collaborate with cross-functional and technical teams including business analysts, solution architect, business technology services teams, and testing teams to define/clarify requirements

c. Work with business technology services team on the smooth delivery of the solution

d. Review Test Scenarios, help plan and support the user acceptance testing and help address any issues. Ensures that there is a business perspective on how the new operations and technical capabilities will be delivered to the business.

e. Spot potential problems, recognize the risk impact and propose risk mitigation strategies.

4. Managing RUN

a. Manage the communication and regular updates to business stakeholders on ‘critical’ production incidents and problems impacting customer and business operations

b. Regular review with business on system stability, responsiveness, production incident, problem tickets including identification of root cause.

c. Track for continuous improvement. Ensure early identification and resolution of challenges impacting BAU systems.

d. Monitoring the fulfilment of service levels between GTO and the business segments and highlighting required actions to close gaps where needed

5. Sustainable Improvements

a. Build a sustainable process for measuring benefits to ensure T&O resources are aligned to business initiatives which provide the highest ROI.

b. Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.

Responsibilities

· New business development and existing customer management for sustainability.

· Build and strengthen good relationship with clients, prospects and associations

· Coordination of regional/Global contracts

· Provide market information on certification

· Improve of managing key accounts

· Do tele-sales when required and assist the other sales team in identifying the contacts, leads when required

· Visit customer as and when needed

· Preparation of brochures and track records and weekly reporting on sales activities
