The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities primarily focusing on the marine geotechnical sector, with a specific focus on windfarm projects in South East Asia, including Korea and Australia. This role will involve building strong relationships with key stakeholders, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth through effective marketing and sales strategies.

Your responsibilities as a Business Development Manager

• Identify and assess new business opportunities in the marine geotechnical and renewable and energy sectors within South East Asia.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to penetrate the market.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, government agencies, and stakeholders in the region.
• Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and emerging opportunities.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment of business development initiatives with service offerings and project capabilities.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and bids to potential clients.
• Represent Horizon Geosciences at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote our services and brand.
• Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Your qualities and experience
You can make your mark as a Business Development Manager if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Engineering, Business, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in business development or sales within the geotechnical, marine, or renewable energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of the windfarm market and marine geotechnical investigation processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to travel within the region as required.

Scope:

• Lead in overall management of space allocation to ensure that all vessels’ space utilization both headhaul and backhaul is at an optimal target level to maximize profit of trade services
• Liaise with agents, internal and external stakeholders on all tactical/strategic matters, including new services, services reshuffle, vessels’ redeployment plan, phasing in/out option and port change / omissions
• Maintain Trade Services Catalogue and preparation of lifting reports
• Monitor space utilization for transshipment cargoes
• Review agents’ performance on space utilization efficiency
• Optimize cargo management to ensure P&L optimization
• Lead efforts to implement solutions to address cargo imbalances, optimizing container allocation and improving vessel profile for optimal yield
• Lead response efforts during operational disruptions and develop contingency plans for cargo recoveries and minimize the impact on cargo flow
• Leading and managing the Cargo Flow Management Team.
• Act as deputy Trade Manager during his/her absence as and when required.
• Mentoring CFMT team with both hard and soft skills (Trade Knowledge, Communication skills, Flexibility)
• Collaborates with Trade Manager and cross-functional teams to align cargo flow operations with company’s strategic goals

1. Support and manage cadet documentation on the Training Management System.
2. Prepare rosters in accordance with each projected training program. Input Instructor and Cadet details into the TMS training forms for each Lesson Plan. Monitor and track the daily roster and effect changes where necessary. Communicate such changes to the relevant simulator instructors, airline sponsors, instructors, and cadets, where appropriate.
3. Assist to make recommendations for changes/proposals related to any roster program SFC currently have or intend to incorporate.
4. Assist to plan the Simulator, and , through the different phases of the MPL Program. Ensure the timely booking of Simulator and Instructor slots preparing Purchase Orders to reflect these requirements.
5. Provide ad-hoc support to the training management team
