JOB PURPOSE

To assist the Project Manager in design, project planning, construction and safety and quality management of projects and maintenance works to ensure smooth work progression and completion within target time and budget.

Responsibilities:

• To assist the Project Manager on project site work by focusing mainly on the aspects of construction, safety quality management, and project coordination of projects and maintenance works and to ensure smooth work progression and completion within target time and budget.
• Prepare method statements, design plans, and specifications.
• Liaise with the stakeholders (e.g. clients, authorities, consultants) on permits, drawings, and design matters.
• Develop projected milestone and operational plans for different phases of the project which includes scheduling, monitoring and reviewing of the work of others.
• Determine project requirements and estimate resources such as manpower, materials and equipment.
• Ensure that site works are executed accordingly based on approved detailed drawings, interpreted plans, and requirements of relevant authorities.
• Ensure project meets dateline/schedule, safety & quality standards of client’s requirements. Support contract administration and construction inspection by reviewing final plans, specifications, special conditions, and agreements.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate/NiTEC, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Others), Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety), or equivalent.
• At least 8 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Specializing in Engineering - Civil/Construction/Structural or equivalent.
• Familiar with Civil, Archi & Steel Structural Works
• Experience in process plants handling both consultants with client will be added advantage

Job scope:

· Engineering and design execution for water and wastewater treatment projects globally.

· Working as a Project Engineering Manager in the engineering department, the incumbent shall primarily work directly on performing engineering functions related to the project business under the direction of the Head of Engineering.

· Assist in the growth and development of engineering talent within the Engineering team by providing guidance to other engineering staff and contributing to regular, frequent knowledge sharing sessions.

· Ensure that engineering is completed accurately within schedule and budge

· Support the Engineering Manager in establishing, maintaining and applying procedures and protocols that will enhance the quality, efficiency and repeatability of engineering activities throughout the department

· Carry out value engineering assessments of all projects under the incumbent's control. Conduct technical analyses and feasibility studies and provide expert advice on process optimization and technology selection.

· Receive the basic process design from the proposals / sales team.

· Prepare / develop / supervise P&IDs, basic Engineering / design, detailed Engineering / design based on customer requirements

· Confirm compliance with customer specifications for equipment and material types.

· Prepare / supervise equipment/piping sizing calculation, equipment datasheets (valve lists/datasheet, equipment list/datasheets, piping schedule etc.), control descriptions/ valve sequence charts and operating manuals

· Carry out technical review of quotations for compliance with requirements

· Review fabrication drawings from external fabricators to ensure compliance with requirements.

· Collaborate with PMs, QA/QC, skid Fabricators and Construction Manager

· Oversee preparation of general arrangement drawings, piping detail drawings, skid arrangement drawings, Module arrangement drawings etc.

· Liaise with clients and customers on technical aspects, making justifications as necessary for design direction Participate in internal and external design reviews

· Coordinate / interface with various discipline

· Support during commissioning for the assigned projects and Manage Warranty Claims technical perspective.

· Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Position requirement:

1. FORMAL EDUCATION:

· Bachelor’s degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental)

2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

· Minimum 15 years’ experience in water or Process industry.

· Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams

· Proficiency in computer skills like MS Office software, AutoCAD, 3D models.

· Detail design of complex/ skid-based /module-based treatment / stick built systems/plants.

· Familiar with API, ASME, AWS, NACE and AWWA codes

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of management.

· Ability to travel as required for project needs.

· Experience working in a multicultural environment and in an international business.

3. TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

· Familiarity with various water treatment methods, technologies, and equipment.

· Knowledge of the design and engineering principles specific to water treatment facilities.

· Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework related to water treatment, environmental standards,

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Marine/Mechanical/Naval Architecture
• Preferably possess 1 years experience in newbuild or ship repairs related projects
• Completed Ship Repair Manager Course
• Project Management Skills in the following areas: Planning scheduling and costing, Risk management, Manpower management, Customer Relationship management.
• Able to deal and communicate with people effectively at all levels on the ground, identify and manage issues, cost consciousness and urgency to get things done
• Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera or MS Projects will be advantageous
