RESPONSIBILITIES

Officer contributes actively to the programme needs of Special Student Care Centre under the umbrella of Community-Based Support Services (CSS).

CSS is the dynamic and nimble service delivery arm in MINDS that response to emerging needs of PWIDs and Caregivers in the community. Examples of services include Me Too! Club, Homebased Care Services, Caregivers Support Services, Special Student Care Centres and Appropriate Adult Services to enhance integration and community living of caregivers and PWIDs in the community.

Officer integrates a range of person centred and family centric approaches and utilise Positive Behavioural framework to conduct enrichment activities for special needs children from age 7 to 18. He/She enriches the quality of life of person with special needs by supervising and providing direct physical care needs before/after school. He/she implements after school care curriculum, adapting and integrating developmentally appropriate teaching and classroom management strategies. The Animal Care Officer (ACO) is responsible for the treatment, care, and overall well-being of animals. The ACO plays an important role in ensuring the welfare of animals within the shelter and executing prescribed treatment and enrichment plans to support the well-being and potential adoption of the animals under their care.

The ACO works largely in a semi-outdoor environment and is required to be physically fit. On occasion, he/she may be required to support Animal Rescue Officers in housing difficult rescue cases.

The responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Cleaning and sanitising animal enclosures and ensure that enclosures are safe for animals.
• Carrying out the feeding and medication of animals in the shelter.
• Washing and sterilising all feeding equipment
• Observing animals for signs of disease or injury to be surfaced to the Shelter Supervisor or Shelter Executive.
• Performing regular bathing of animals according to schedule and ensure animals are kept clean.
• Exercising animals and delivering enrichment programmes.
• Ensuring that checklists are appropriately completed to support the Shelter Supervisor in overall shelter management.
• Working closely with Shelter Manager and Animal Care Executives to execute enrichment, treatment and rehabilitation plans for animals.
• Conducting adoption appointments and screen potential adopters.
• Providing post-adoption support to adopters.

Others

• Providing support for other ad-hoc events and SPCA-led projects

Qualifications and Requirements

• Able to communicate in written and spoken English
• Experience working with animals is an added advantage but not compulsory
• Passion for animal welfare.
• Meticulous and detail oriented.
• Good interpersonal skills.

• Deliver high standard of nursing care to our renal patients.
• Perform initiation of dialysis, patient and machine monitoring during dialysis, and termination of the dialysis procedure.
• Nursing intervention to avoid complications, decreasing the need for hospitalisations.

Requirements:

• SNB Registered
• Diploma in Nursing with relevant working renal experience.
