Key Role
To create a meaningful experience for SGTech’s corporate members in our business communities (Chapters) related to Digital Trust and Digital Transformation technologies. This includes advocating for members’ needs, driving business matching and capability building opportunities, and facilitating collaborations and connections in the community.
To succeed in this role, you require strong stakeholder management skills to manage the interests of C-suite industry leaders, community partners and government agencies. It is also important for you to be detail-oriented and possess strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset.
The Chapter Manager will have a unique opportunity to work closely with industry-led C-suite leadership team known as Chapter Executive Committees (Excos) to engage and create value for the broader community.
Key Responsibilities
1) Chapter Exco Management
- Facilitate regular meetings to plan, consult and drive execution of chapter management plans;
- Work closely with Exco members to source for the resources required to ensure successful execution of projects and activities;
- Coordinate communications between Exco members and SGTech Council leadership to ensure alignment to organisation goals;
- Provide secretariat support for pre-meeting, in-meeting and post meeting;
- Assist Chapter Chairs in identifying diverse and capable industry leaders to participate as Exco members;
- Track and manage objectives and key results of the chapter.
Advocacy: Serve as the voice of members to policymakers and regulators
- Acquire domain knowledge to adequately to engage Exco, members and stakeholders;
- Consult members regularly to understand their business challenges;
- Facilitate constructive dialogue opportunities with key government agencies;
- Consolidate and represent industry feedback through appropriate channels, e.g. Budget recommendations.
Advisory: Help members navigate government structures, programmes and policies
- Build a strong understanding of the public and private sector landscape specific to your chapters domain;
- Build a strong understanding of the grants and programmes managed by SGTech.
Business Opportunities: Drive local and global business matching opportunities for members
- Coordinate business matching events in partnership with SGTech’s Digital Transformation and Internationalisation programmes;
- Manage partnership with tech user businesses communities. Take ownership in developing relationships and collaborations with other trade associations and equivalent partners.
Business Capabilities: Build members’ business capabilities in Talent, Sustainability, Digital Transformation and Trust.
- Champion initiatives that support members’ business needs in the areas of Sustainability, Digital Transformation, Digital Trust, Internationalisation and Talent Development;
- Work with SGTech’s Strategic Programmes team to customise and design new programmes and products to benefit the member community.
Collaboration and Connections: Bridge B2B connections and partnership opportunities for the community.
- Facilitate programmes and activities that provide a platform for members to interact, e.g., networking events, business matching, workshops and seminars;
- Actively engage the community to develop a strong understanding of the membership base, contributing to the higher success in chapter member retention at renewal.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of working experience preferred. A track record of working with business communities and senior management stakeholders will be an advantage;
- Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence in engaging senior management and partners at all levels;
- Strong communication skills, including presentation, storytelling, negotiation, and persuasion;
- Demonstrated track record of meticulous project management;
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness in finding effective solutions;
- Self-driven and pro-active with a passion for personal growth and professional development, especially in the technology space;
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive for success.
