Job Responsibilities

· Act as the primary point of contact for patients undergoing surgery, providing support from pre-operative planning through to post-surgery follow-up consultations.

· Educate and prepare patients on the entire surgical process, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages.

· Provide detailed and comprehensive counselling regarding the type of surgery, along with the associated consumables, implants, and any other related medical details.

· Collaborate with surgeons to assess patient conditions and coordinate surgery scheduling.

· Respond to patient inquiries related to surgery, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

· Oversee pre-admission planning, offering guidance and counselling to patients and their families.

· Assist in ensuring timely referrals are made to the appropriate medical specialists or departments.

· Ensure seamless coordination between outpatient clinics, hospital wards, and operating theatres to facilitate smooth patient flow

· Contribute to morbidity audits and support continuous quality improvement efforts.

· Assist surgeons in tracking and managing their caseloads to ensure proper documentation and workload monitoring.

· Provide support for events, seminars, and related educational initiatives.

· Monitor and track patients with conditions, ensuring appropriate follow-up care and management.

Requirements

· Degree in Sciences or Nursing.

· BCLS instructor certification or registered nurse with years of nursing experience in Operating Theatre/ Intensive Care Unit in an acute or private hospital has an advantage.

· A team-player and people oriented with good communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.

· Possess a positive, a can-do and proactive working attitude, with initiative, compassion and flexibility.
