Regional Technical Support Engineer (TSE) provides technical and engineering support related to equipment within a Siemens Energy (SE) Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) Package. The Regional TSE position is an integral part of the Regional Operation team. This position involves direct engagement with End Customers (within Asia Pacific Region), Third Party Vendors, Field Service team, Marketing & Sales team, Product Competency Center (PCC) and Project Management teams, in the resolution of equipment and/or operational problems.
How Youāll Make an Impact
Ā· Act as technical consultant to end customer, joint venture partner, project teams, marketing & sales team etc.
Ā· Provide prompt technical response to Customer to keep our customer equipment operating safely.
Ā· Assist and guide Customer to fault find and resolve equipment related technical issues.
Ā· Direct communications with vendors in the solution of auxiliary equipment failure or malfunction.
Ā· Liaise with Product Competency Center (PCC) to seek further support if technical issue cannot be resolved regionally.
Ā· Write fact based technical reports with high level of proficiency.
Ā· Create Field Change Order (FCO) instructions and work procedures, to support Field Engineers and Customer personnel with Site modification or change-out activities.
Ā· Identification of complaints from customer and escalate it through appropriate channels.
Ā· Perform field tests and failure investigation on overall packages and components.
Ā· Support Modifications & Upgrades (MK&S) team to identify new opportunities from technical recommendations provided to the customer.
Ā· Assist Project Team during planning and execution.
Ā· Assist in the training of Company and Customer personnel.
Ā· Provide hands-on service and troubleshooting as required. At times, this will require traveling to site (around 30% of the time)
Ā· Capable and willing to assist the Regional Technical Support Manager in special projects and improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
Ā· Degree/ Diploma in Engineering related discipline.
Ā· Minimum of 4 yearsā experience working with Rotating Machinery in the oil and gas industry and/or power generation industry.
Ā· Experience working on Siemens Energy Gas Turbines and/or Turbo Compressors.
Ā· Good understanding of operations of gas turbine and driven compression equipment and their associated auxiliary systems, such as air filtration, acoustic packages, lube oils systems, fuel gas systems, seal gas system and other auxiliary systems.
Ā· Essential to have good understanding of control systems including hardware design, power distribution, networking, electrical wiring (internal to UCP and Cross site cables), Allen Bradley platform or SIMATIC S7-1500 platform controls.
Ā· Ability to work as a team player and contribute to the success of the team.
Ā· Ability to communicate and exchange ideas effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Ā· Ability to initiate ideas to resolve complex issues into practical engineering solutions.
Ā· Ability (BOSIET, CA-EBS, MIST, H2S) and willingness to travel to supplier and customer sites to perform site surveys, assessments, customer meetings, and possibly participate in safety discussions.
Ā· Knowledge of the following: IEC, ISO, NFPA, NACE, API, Machinery Directive, EMC, CSA, ANSI, ASME, UL.
Ā· Full working rights in Singapore.
