Duties of Laboratory Technician:

• Assist in routine lab tasks such as paint preparation, panel setup, and airless spray applications.
• Conduct sampling, testing, and analysis for paint products.
• Support chemists in development projects, including managing stock levels for panels, raw materials, and lab supplies.
• Participate in trial applications and inspections outside the lab under supervision.
• Handle non-chemical waste disposal and maintain a safe work environment by following ISO, safety, and environmental standards.
• Communicate progress or delays effectively with the line manager.

Responsibilities:

• Draft process improvement idea with the objectives to improve process / occupational safety, improve product safety/quality, reduce energy consumption, improve production capacity, and reduce costs.
• Implement Process Improvement idea via Management of Change system and/or Non-regular work system.
• Coordinate, arrange and plan new grade trial run with R&D and Operation team, and handle the trial run and the evaluation.
• Evaluate process performance and key process parameters from long term view and/or periodically to uncover potential risk.
• Troubleshoot process issues, perform root cause analysis and propose corrective and preventive measures.
• Participate actively in HAZOP , FMEA and Control plan studies as Process engineering function for safety and quality improvement.
• Oversee Process related capital expenditures project from conceptual design up to Front End Engineering Design (FEED).
• Study and implement Industry 4.0 related technologies as part of Productivity Improvements and Process improvement Projects
• Participate in Company EHSQ program and cooperate with its promotion and improvement.
• Collaborates with other departments in Management systems such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, SS651, IATF16949, Safety Case regime, Energy management system and ISCC.

Requirements:

• Bachelor / Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is a MUST.
• 2-3 year(s) of working experience in Petrochemical Industries (Preferred) / manufacturing industries with Engineer capacity scopes.
• Knowledge in IATF 16949/ IEC 61511, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and SS651 Standards.
• Using Process Simulation software such as Aspen Plus®/ Aspen HYSYS®.
• Familiarity with Distributed Control System (DCS), in particular its logic and sequence modification.
• Familiarity with Safety Case Regime.
• Able to multi-task and handle a wide spectrum of responsibilities.
• Good interpersonal skills and strong analytical skills.

Job Description

• Support R&D efforts
• Support system audit and certification
• Support operations of systems and production
• Support the controlled tests on various feed stock types
• Perform studies on outputs by systems – i.e. quality of syngas and biochar, energy regeneration etc.
• Aid in system design and optimization, check the compliance with local and international regulations
• Participate in Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) and Hazard Identification Study (HAZID) in all system implementations
• Support in writing Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and operation manuals
• Support system installations and operations as required
• Support other tasks as directed by the supervisor

Requirements

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Fresh graduates eligible
• Knowledge in pyrolysis, syngas and biochar (good to have)
• Hands-on personality, and able to work on the ground operating/fixing the systems
• Knowledge on simulation using Aspen HYSYS (good to have)
