Job Duties:

• Maintain 5S & Safety in Laboratory, plan and deliver services to meet the local and regional business plan objectives
• Technical report preparation and authorization and provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory
• Provide onsite project leadership and testing execution while ensuring development and training of junior staff
• Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable
• Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing, possess the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities and able to interact with customers on technical issues and questions
• Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers and be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders and assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory
• Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data, utilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis and be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions
• Ensure that tests assigned to the technicians are performed in a timely manner in accordance with validated test protocols and procedures; give training to the technicians as required, upkeep test reports and related records and ensure equipment and testing meets the requirement of ISO/IEC 17025
• Maintain and upkeep test facilities and laboratory equipment, assist with hazard identification and risk assessment exercises within their areas of responsibility and monitor day-to-day health and safety in their section of responsibility and ensure all hazards, near misses and accidents are reported

Job Requirements:

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety
• Possess a Degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Engineering major or testing related field with a minimum of 2 years’ pertinent post degree engineering experience, or advanced academic / professional qualifications
• In-depth understanding of testing concepts and able to apply academic knowledge within the context of Element’s business
• A team player with advanced computer and communication skills

Position Summary

• Able to do engineering and design for Fire and Gas detection and suppression systems in accordance with international standards (e.g. NFPA) and project specifications.
• Provides daily technical support to instrument and electrical technicians and supervisors during installation.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Involved in Fire Alarm Detection System Design and installation.
• Involved in Gas Detection Design and installation.
• Involved in Fire Suppression design and installation.
• Involved in preparing Intrinsically Safe calculation for Instruments.
• Involved in HVAC design control philosophy and instrumentation
• Involved in preparing mapping list for interface to customer.
• Involved in preparing bill of materials and liaise with customer and suppliers for any engineering query.
• Involved in design and construction document preparation and submissions.
• Involved in technical reviews and clarifications with customer and suppliers.
• Involved in coordination of design with other engineering disciplines.
• Involved in construction, installation, testing and commission activities.
• Involve in identifying the Company scope of work in the project.
• Involve in solving technical issues that arise in the project.
• Involve in monitor the progress of the document submission.
• Some drafting scope and also guide drafters for drafting.

Job Requirements

• Good communication skills in English both written & spoken.
• Must know basic fire alarm detection system.
• Must know gas detection system.
• Must know HVAC instrumentation.
• Must know PLC logic.
• Have knowledge in basic electrical design.
• Know how to do electrical cable sizing, voltage drop, cable gland sizing and cable schedule.
• Willing to travel to Batam

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering duties such as design, engineering calculations, planning, tender preparation/evaluations as part of the engineering project team
• QA/QC documentation of engineering deliverables
• Liaison with clients, project managers, architects, contractors
• Assist in resolving any technical problems faced during project design and/or construction stages
• Any other required duties as required by the Project Team.

• Develop design documentation as per Deliverable List e.g., Process Flow Diagrams, Block Flow Diagram, Piping and Instrumentation Drawings, Process System Layouts, Equipment and Instrumentation data sheets.
• Involved with Senior Engineers for preparation of tender document and tendering activities (tender preparation, tender interview / clarification meetings, evaluate proposals submissions and Tender Recommendation Report preparation).
• Perform engineering reviews on vendor design deliverables to ensure compliance and completeness in technical scope.
• Brief Process Supervisors on the project scope, design details & drawings, project schedule before commencing the project site construction works.
• Involve in daily and weekly meetings for project construction activities and prepare the minutes of meetings, keep records.
• Coordination works with process systems supervisors, construction manager, senior engineers , sub-contractors for daily and weekly process systems construction activities.
• Maintain the project folders and sub folders with relevant project design, safety, construction documents and drawings, conduct monthly reviews with senior engineer and leas engineer.
• Familiar with software design tools Pipe Flo , BIM 360 , Blue Beam, EMP for managing the process system design works
• Familiar with project safety requirements and participate in IFW meetings, project safety meetings.
• Assist Lead/Senior Engineer/s in budgeting and cost estimations for projects.
• Familiar with knowledge Centre and Learned Lessons, study and utilize the temp plates and process system materials to learn and develop the knowledge about the various process systems.
• Assist Quality Assurance/Quality Compliance Manager/Senior Engineer/s in Site acceptance Test and Inspection Qualification.
• Assist Commissioning Manager in system start-up, testing and commissioning and system turnover to client.
• To take role as Work Package Owner (WPO) responsible for packages progress to completion with help of supervisor and final handover documents.
• Participation in Design for Safety during the design stage works
• BIM Modelling internal reviews with BIM/CAD Team, CSA & MEP counter parts and review with client for LOD 400, 450 and 500.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
• Diploma holders with additional 2 - 3 years’ experience unless equated with professional certifications
• Experience in design and/or construction in either Deionized/Ultrapure Water or Wastewater or Chemical or Gas Systems.
• Understanding of Codes and Engineering Standards of International Clients.
• Conversant in the use of design software.

Requirements:

• Must have minimum of 5 years of IT systems development experience in Banking industry, candidate with design and test case creation experience is highly preferred.
• Must have Business analysis or consulting experience in banking industry, especially overseas remittance area experience is preferred.
• Must have experience in the global BPR and/or system rollout project experience.
• Must have good communication skill in English (both spoken and written). Able to speak in Japanese language in order to liaise with Japanese speaking stakeholders and client.
• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. XML file format knowledge is also preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
