Person Specifications

• A good degree and a recognized teaching qualification or certification are expected.
• Experience of teaching the IB Diploma English A Literature and/or Language and Literature courses would be highly desirable and experience or interest in curriculum development is advantageous.
• The ability to engage with students and to engender enthusiasm for learning is a prerequisite for teaching at UWCSEA.
• A demonstrated commitment to holistic assessment practises and regular feedback to students.
• A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners.

Job Description

We are looking for a PE Teacher who will work for our school.

• To develop and conduct effective lesson plans to teach physical education appropriate for the primary/secondary age group;
• To plan and implement appropriate PE programmes to support and enhance children's understanding of health, physical exercise and safety;
• To assess, observe, record and report on student progress in their physical development (gross and fine motor skills and coordination), including writing student reports and attending parents meetings;
• To obtain and maintain appropriate sports equipment, in collaboration with the respective staff of the preschools;
• To conduct appropriate after school clubs as assigned;
• To participate in any school events as assigned.

Who are we looking for

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education/ Pre-School Teaching or its equivalent (preferred);
• Relevant qualifications in Physical Education or Sports Science (preferred);

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies, guidelines, frameworks and philosophy of the centre.
• Address each child’s educational and developmental and keep accurate records of children’s progress
• through checklists, progress notes, photographs and anecdotal records.
• Provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to work and play in.
• Meet with parents to address any concerns or at parents’ request. Keep Principal informed about student concerns or difficulties.
• Complete progress reports on children for each semester and prepare a developmental portfolio for each child.
• Render basic first aid as and when necessary.
• Being responsible for the arrangement, appearance, decorations, and learning environment of the classroom.
• Attend all teachers meetings and professional development sessions, and participate on committees and activity teams as required. Attendance is mandatory.
• Work cooperatively with other staff/ teachers to ensure optimal benefit for children
• Display a positive attitude, work cooperatively with other staff members and assist new teachers with settling in to MindChamps PreSchool
• Other adhoc duties that might be required from time to time as assigned by your supervisor/the company.

• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the centre according to the time schedule and work requirements
• Cleaning classroom floor with disinfectant, classroom tables, chairs and school equipment and devices
• Rinse toilet seats and floor, wash and dry toilet floor, refill soap, hand tissue and toilet rolls, clear rubbish bins and replace plastic bags, wash hand basins and wipe mirrors
• Clean and wash kitchen pantry, crockery, cutlery, utensils, and dining areas, tables and chairs.
