RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan engaging circle time experiences and small group experiences within an inquiry, play-based context
• Document childrens learning through contributions towards newsletters, class panels and childrens portfolios
• Create meaningful language opportunities for children where a love for Mandarin can be promoted;
• Build and maintain close partnership with parents

• Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education in Teaching (Chinese language) or its equivalent

We are looking for ENGLISH TEACHER who is passionate to provide inclusive and diverse teaching to allow them to develop a sense of success and to create a steppingstone for their future.

• Conduct classroom teaching in an inclusive setting as a English teacher.
• Conduct small group/ individual teaching sessions for school aged children with learning difficulties.
• Design and execute lesson plans based on given syllabus and track progress of students and lessons.
• Prepare Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) for students.
• Review and development of the syllabus with school’s curriculum team.
• Proficiency in using educational technology.
• Communicate with parents.
• Work collaboratively in a team and participate in the wider school community.

Requirements

• The candidate should hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent from a recognized University.
• At least 2 – 5 years relevant professional teaching experience in SPED setting.
• Has relevant working experience with children/people with learning difficulties.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse and multicultural environment.
• Knowledge & skills to manage behavior through appropriate behavior intervention strategies,
• Knowledge of various types of disabilities (e.g., ASD, GDD, CP, Down syndrome, HI, VI)
• Knowledge, understanding and Writing of IEP (e.g., how to link the assessment to the development of an IEP) .
• Able to commence in short notice.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach classes in accordance with Julia Gabriel Centre’s methodology and Reading & Writing programme requirements

Responsible to:Board of Directors and Principal in the execution of professional duties and responsibilites.

As Class Teacher to:

• Respect and value each childs social, cultural and religious background and by example, provide mutual respect and tolerance.
• Share in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare and behaviour of all pupils and in particular, those within your designated class group.
• Undertake the teaching of a class in accordance with the schools agreed policies and guidelines.
• Use a variety of appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning takes place.
• Provide planning documents identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, special needs, extension and assessment, to the Principal or other authorized officer.

• At least 2 5 years relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood;
• The candidate should hold a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or Education or equivalent, which is obtained from a recognised University or College involving not less than 3 years full time study;
• Teachers Certificates, Diplomas or other Teacher Accreditation courses and certification are required if the applicants degree is not in Education;
• IB PYP course and training are highly valued;
• Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry based learning is required;
• Applicants must provide original copies of their Certificates and academic transcripts for authentication;
• International experience, especially in Asia is highly regarded;

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education, with a preference for candidates with relevant bachelor's degrees;
• At least 5 years of experience in early childhood teaching;
• Standard Mandarin, with proper writing skills;
• Proactive and responsible work attitude;
• ECDA L2 certification.
