Job Description :

· Document children's learning and maintain a warm relationship with parents 记录孩子的学习情况并与父母保持联系

· Provide a safe and clean learning environment for the children 为孩子们提供安全清洁的学习环境

We are seeking for the role to start in July 2024.

Primary Responsibility:

To provide students with a stimulating, challenging and enjoyable learning experience both in and beyond the classroom, and to offer them the encouragement they need to thrive at SJI International.

Specific Responsibilities:

Teaching and learning

• Identify and adopt the most effective active, creative teaching approaches for SJI International students in line with current best practice and the ethos of our school
• Work with other members of the Faculty to apply consistent standards in the following:

curriculum planning and delivery; formative and summative assessment through classwork, homework and formal examination; standardisation and moderation of the examinations process

• Create a stimulating learning environment, including displays of student work
• Teach across the age and ability ranges from Foundation IGCSE (Grades 7 & 8) through to IGCSE (Grades 9 & 10), to the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12). We are specifically looking for a specialist of teaching G7 to G10 Mathematics.
• Identify and take advantage of opportunities to use resources offered within and beyond Singapore to take learning outside the classroom
• Adopt strategies and monitor teaching and learning activities to support individuals with learning needs in line with school policy and the Learning Development Department
• Ensure compliance with all rules regarding health and safety in the classroom
• Set and mark homework regularly in line with school and faculty policy
• Identify and teach study skills/strategies that will develop students' ability to work independently
• Take part in the process and marking of the Extended Essay component of the IB Diploma

Recording and assessment

• Set clear targets for raising achievement
• Collect and record assessment data
• Comply with established systems for identifying, assessing and reviewing student progress
• Develop an understanding of different learning needs and the importance of raising achievement among students
• Attend parent-student-teacher conferences and keep parents informed about their child's progress, both formally through regular assessments and written reports, and informally through effective communication via email

Standards and quality assurance

• Support the aims and ethos of SJI International as a Catholic, Lasallian school
• Support the school’s established outdoor education and co-curricular programme
• Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
• Attend and participate in open evenings and student performances
• Uphold the school's behaviour code and uniform regulations
• Participate in staff training and annual performance review
• Attend team and staff meetings

Other duties and responsibilities

All teachers at SJI International are also expected to contribute significantly to the service, sport and activity programmes, to accompany school trips and expeditions and to play a full part in the continued development of a thriving school community. Most teachers are also expected to take on the pastoral role of Form Tutor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To provide safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable

· To undertake the teaching and care of a class to ensure high quality learning or care takes place.

· To maintain professional dialogue with colleagues concerning the children, parents other colleagues and the school.

· To be responsible for all aspects of classroom management.

· To observe and use a variety of methods to record children’s holistic development. Keep appropriate records of achievement for each child in class and provide individual child’s portfolios/reports.

· To build positive links between yourself and parents of children under your care.

. Teachers must be able to deliver English Language or chinese Language lessons

Job Requirements:

· Must possess at least one of the following Early Childhood certification:-

1. Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY)

2. Higher Certificate in Infant Care (HCIC)

3. Dpt / DPL Certificate (L1 or L2)

· Registered with ECDA as EY1 or EY2 Or L2 or L1

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· Fresh graduates are welcome

· Able to commence work soon is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and implement enrichment programs for young children
• Keep accurate records of children’s progress
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Use positive guidance strategies and techniques

Job Requirements:

• Min. Diploma in a relevant area.
• Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education – Teaching (DECCE-T) will be an advantage but not necessary.

• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Willingness to be a team player in a child-oriented environment

Skills and other requirements:

Native English speaker
1 to 2 years’ experience in teaching or tutoring
Undergraduate or post-graduate degree from a reputable university
Comfortable communicating with students, parents, team members and management alike
Willing to teach at students’ homes and travel via taxis between classes

Under general supervision, the teacher

• Conducts activities in the Centre and works with other staff to plan programmes and activities.
