Job Summary

• Tax will be in charge of all categories of tax matters, including but not limited to tax compliance and planning projects.

Primary Responsibilities Of This Position Include

• Handling overall tax matters and tax related accounting matters to ensure the tax compliance of the company and reduce potential tax risk;
• Keeping up-to-date with the changes in tax regulation and industry trends, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications;
• Providing tax advice to business partners to ensure the business processes and transactions are consistent with Singapore tax regulations;
• Dealing with global tax issues including but not limited to tax regulations and practices research, tax solutions provision etc.;
• Handling tax compliance related matters, including but not limited to:
• Performing regular tax compliance work, such as GST filing, CIT filing, etc.;
• Tax planning;
• Preparing and submitting external tax-related reports;
• Applying for tax incentives, such as zero tax rate of GST etc., and cooperating with the inspection of the relevant authorities;
• Preparing Transfer Pricing Document (if necessary);
• Maintain and develop effective communication with the government authorities, prepare and submit the data/reports required;

Basic Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree majoring in accounting, taxation or economics and 4 years working experience at least;
• Proficient in Singapore GAAP and local tax regulations;
• Strong executive ability and adaptability, with the personal quality of meticulous, conscientious and responsible;
• Good communication skills;
• Bilingual in English and Chinese is required, to communicate with internal stakeholders.

The position will be part of the Singapore Tax Team to provide both tax compliance and advisory services to the Chevron Singapore group of companies. Our tax team partners our wide array of Singapore Oil & Gas businesses ranging from refining, fuels and lubricants marketing, chemical additives, trading, shipping, as well as business development origination and energy transition. The nature of the work is diverse but largely includes managing tax compliance and tax dispute resolutions, as well as providing tax support on a variety of projects. To be successful, the candidate needs to be self-motivated and has a results-oriented personality.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

• Ensure that statutory corporate tax compliance requirements and internal reporting obligations are met. This includes preparing/ filing the annual income tax returns, and monthly current tax and deferred tax provisions as well as ensuring SOX compliance.
• Regularly track and monitor for tax incentives conditions compliance.
• Manage the transfer pricing compliance risk by ensuring transfer pricing documentation is in place. This includes the review of transfer pricing reports.
• Support resolution of disputes or audits with tax authorities.
• Keeping abreast of Singapore and international tax developments, and proactively working with the finance and global tax team in advancing efforts to ensure that the entities/ businesses are ready to meet the complex demands for tax reporting, compliance and planning (e.g. BEPS 2.0).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a Big 4 and/or large MNC.
• Must have tax preparation experience.

Job Description

1. Review companies’ ESG assessment, and other data and documentation about their social and environmental performance, accurately and efficiently within the process for certification.
2. Interact with the companies (CEO/Founder or a sustainability project manager) at going through the certification or re-certification process; providing quality customer service, and managing communications related to the standards and certification.
3. Guide companies through the companies’ legal framework and legal requirement for certification.
4. Update records in real-time in the ESG assessment app and in Salesforce.
5. Manage account pipeline and project timelines for 20+ companies each in the certification process.
6. Provide concrete suggestions for companies to improve their ESG impact, when applicable.
7. Provide basic technical support to companies using the ESG assessment online tool.
8. Drafts proposals for recommendations
9. You shall perform such other services as are customarily performed by one holding such a position

Job Skill and Qualification

• 2-3 years’ experience in business, preferably in a role with an external-facing responsibility like business development, public relations etc.
• Educational or experiential knowledge of Business, and preferably Sustainability, Social Sciences or Environmental Studies.
• Have an eye for detail and accuracy.
• Manage work in respect of tight deadlines & multi-tasking, handling several projects at any one time.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Those who speak Spanish, Portuguese, and French in addition to English being the first language medium.
• Have experience working with or in different global contexts.
• Have customer service experience, including the ability to lead and influence others.
• Capacity to learn technological platforms swiftly or are tech-savvy (Salesforce, Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, Slack)
