Position Objective

Reporting to the Managing Director - Operations, the Head of Community Engagement is responsible for providing an exceptional community and customer experience that drives retention of students and increased advocacy of the school. Job Descriptions:

Coordinate and responsible for the planning, execution and evaluation of programmes and ensure smooth running of daily operations of the department, which includes:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Programme Planning and Implementation

2. Alert Alarm System

• Oversee and manage the Alert Alarm System (AAS) during the centre’s operating hours, rendering assistance when necessary.
• Establish a system to manage the AAS outside operating hours and ensures that help continues to be available when needed, including a system of recalling staff outside operating hours.

3. Volunteer Development

• Establish networks with local community-based services/ resources, such as grassroots, social services, corporate organisations and schools, to engage volunteers to help run or assist in the programmes, start income-generating activities, conduct outreach efforts etc., to match the needs of seniors.
• Recruit, interview and screen potential volunteers.
• Provide and coordinate orientation of volunteers to their assigned role and the mission and objectives of the centre.
• Place volunteers to suitable positions and areas of need, such as administration of CSQ etc.
• Supervise and support volunteers.
• Establish a system of recognition for the volunteers.
• Review and evaluate the volunteer programme to ensure relevance and to meet future needs.
• Serve as the key communication link between the centre and its volunteers.

4. Finance and Accounts

• Manage the monthly petty cash utilization of the centre.
• Implement checks and controls in the accounting system to ensure proper accounting records and also to safeguard against misappropriation of the centre’s assets.

MAIN PURPOSE / OBJECTIVES:

• The Assistant Director, Community and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of community services and youth mental health programmes. He/she will provide professional and operational oversight for clinical and social work components in CYMH.

• This position will supervise the Manager, Youth Development Centre (YDC) to ensure smooth planning and implementation of programmes for youths at the drop in centre, child access services and youth mental health programmes. This will include guiding staff and executing the pivoting of YDC from its current focus to professionally grounded youth mental health and developing the activities and programmes needed from scratch.

• This position will also provide professional supervision to develop and implement youth mental health programmes that are able to reach a broad spectrum of youths to build resilience as well as supervise the team to provide case management and basic level counselling/triage for low to moderate level of youth mental health concerns. This will include ensuring that funders' KPIs and obligations are met.

• This position will also supervise the Manager, Kids in Play (KIP) to ensure strategic planning, and provide strong professional oversight to enable KIP to continue to be well established as a clinically sound service provider and continue to grow KIP's social work and clinical practice in the corrections landscape. As a Research Fellow in Communication, Journalism, and Related programs with CTIC, you have demonstrated prior research experience, so you will be tasked with supporting the planning and execution of a research project under the CTIC Digital Resilience research grant. RAs with a communication research background will be tasked to focus on human evaluation and news consumption (Communication research).

Our Community Resource, Engagement and Support (CREST) teams support clients who are at risk of or diagnosed with mental illness as well as their caregivers. The teams provide basic emotional support and monitoring of their mental health conditions through home visits and service linkages.
