a) Assist in planning and implementing safety, health systems and policies

b) Plan, organize, implement WSH requirements for all premises as per legal requirements and organizational needs

A Project Manager in the construction industry is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
2. Use project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) to create schedules and track progress.
3. Define project scope and establish objectives aligned with client requirements.
4. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
5. Monitor expenditures and address any cost overruns promptly.
6. Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
7. Lead and manage project teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
8. Assign roles, responsibilities, and tasks to team members.
9. Foster collaboration and resolve conflicts among team members.
10. Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, contractors, and internal teams.
11. Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and presentations.
12. Address client concerns and adjust project plans as necessary.
13. Ensure all construction activities meet industry standards, building codes, and client specifications.
14. Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and adherence to plans.
15. Implement and enforce quality control measures.
16. Identify potential risks (safety, financial, legal) and develop mitigation plans.
17. Monitor and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
18. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols on-site.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 Years of working experience in the related field.
• Experience in HDB/MOH project.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Expertise in project management tools and methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Leadership and team management.

Responsibilities:

1. Manages the team responsible for erecting steel frames, beams, columns, and other steel components, ensuring proper alignment and assembly.
2. A thorough understanding of blueprints, engineering drawings, and structural plans is essential to ensure that steel structures are constructed accurately.
3. Directing a team of steelworkers, welders, and laborers, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and ensuring productivity and quality.
4. Enforcing safety standards and regulations (such as OSHA guidelines) to protect workers and minimize accidents on site.
5. Ensuring that materials and workmanship meet the specified standards and that construction progresses according to schedule.
6. Coordinating with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the steel structure meets the overall design and construction timeline.
7. Addressing any challenges that arise on the job site, whether related to materials, logistics, or design issues.
8. Overseeing the delivery and usage of steel materials, ensuring they are stored and handled safely and efficiently.
9. Updating project managers or supervisors on the progress of the steel structure and any issues encountered.

Requirements

1. Diploma or equivalent certificate in construction management or structural engineering
2. Min 3 year of relevant experience in steel construction or a related field, as a steelworker or welder.
3. Deep understanding of steel structures, welding, fabrication processes, and construction techniques.
4. Ability to lead and communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
