Plasterers are skilled tradesmen who apply plaster and decorative finishes to interior and exterior walls and ceilings. They form part of a building or contracting team and can be skilled in various specialized applications such as lathing and plastering on wooden timbers and dry lining plasterboard.
1.· Applying the plaster to the surface being worked on (inside walls, ceilings, outside walls)
2.· Repairing, replacing, or installing ceiling tiles, grids, hangers, black iron, and holes in sheetrock, plaster, brick, concrete block, pyro block, terracotta, glazed block walls as required
3.Prepare cement floors, sidewalks, stairs and curbing
4.Apply waterproofing material including caulk
5.Tape and flush smooth wall sheetrock joints using trowels, hawks, taping knives, and other taping equipme
6.Preparatory to painting, make repairs in plaster, sheetrock, and masonry surfaces.
7.Make repairs to cracked & loose plaster.
8.The ability to work as part of a team sometimes outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
9.Considerable knowledge of the principles, methods and procedures governing the painting, gazing and plastering trades.
