Job Summary

As the Safety Officer for the main contractor, you will report to the Project Manager and oversee safety protocols at the construction site. This includes conducting inspections, implementing safety measures, facilitating training, and ensuring compliance with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with WSH regulations.
• Risk Management: Perform risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate hazards.
• Training and Education: Organize safety training programs, toolbox meetings, and emergency response drills.
• Incident Management: Investigate accidents and near-misses, recommend preventive measures, and prepare reports.
• Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety procedures, liaising with MOM and other regulatory bodies.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop emergency response plans and conduct regular site readiness drills.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of WSH regulations and site safety practices in Singapore.
• Proficient in report writing, record-keeping, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Lead and manage the planning, execution and completion of diaphragm wall construction projects.
• Oversee the design, development and approval of construction plans and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental and legal regulations on-site.
• Monitor project progress, manage risks and make necessary adjustments to meet timelines.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• At least 8 years of experience in construction project management, specifically diaphragm wall construction
• Proven track record managing large-scale civil or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with local building regulations, environmental and safety standards
• Strong Knowledge of diaphragm wall construction techniques and equipment
• Proficient in project management software
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost control and financial management of projects
• Effective communication, stakeholder, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Experience working with government agencies or large infrastructure clients;
• Required to travel to construction sites and work in both office and field environments
