Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
• Assist in loading and unloading building materials and equipment.
• Operate hand and power tools of all types, including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment.
• Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
• Dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble and debris.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete and other materials.
• Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers.
• Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions.

· Understand which materials are best for both new construction and historic buildings and obtain them beforehand

· Prepare walls and ceilings for stucco and cement by cleaning, taping and fixing any holes or cracks
