The Senior Quantity Surveyor (Site) assists the Senior Manager, Contracts in day-to-day operations. Duties include preparing cost estimates and plans and managing all costs involved for the project while administering contractual, tender, and claim issues.

Quality

This role supports procurement and contract management by preparing RFQ/Open Tender

documents, sourcing tenderers, coordinating queries, and assisting with subcontract administration,

payment requests, and quantity surveying matters, while also performing ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Job Description

• Liaise with construction team to prepare document for Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Open Tender
• Source potential tenderers/subcontractors and send out invitation for RFQs
• Coordinate queries and clarifications between tenderers and construction team during RFQ stage
• Coordinate post-tender interviews between tenderers, construction team, QS team and contracts team
• Assist QS manager and contracts manager with quantity surveying matters relevant to Sub-Contract, Works Order and Purchase Order.
• Assist contracts team in administration of subcontracts
• Handle payment request received from subcontractors and suppliers
• Ensure clear and substantiated verbal and written communication to internal and external stakeholders
• Any other adhoc tasks assigned by QS Manager / Contracts Manager

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Survey, Civil Engineering, Engineering; Possess the relevant tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Contract/Construction Law.
• Min. 3 years’ experience in quantity surveying and sub-contract administration of Construction Project.
• Experience in large-scale process construction projects.
• Computer Knowledge eg. Excel, powerpoint, words
• Able to work at Tuas South area

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

• Source and procure sub-contractors and suppliers and collate prices for comparison.
• Review and understand all specification and drawings.
• Preparation of cost loading.
• Meeting and negotiation with upstream and downstream with regard to quantities/unit rates/schedule of rates, payment claim, specification/drawings, scope of works/responsibility matrix, variations, as necessary.

Qualifications :

• Minimum 7 years working experience in either a construction firm or a quantity surveying firm with good knowledge in procurement, quantity surveying and SOP Act.
• Good understanding of LTA MRT Works and Design and Build Projects.
• A good command of both English and Mandarin as well as computer literate.
• A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact with people from all levels
• Possess good negotiation and coordination skills
• Possess high level of integrity, pleasant personality, initiative and proactive, meticulous and analytical coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, good at multitasking, able to meet tight deadlines and work independently with minimum supervision.
• To be stationed at site office, work alternate Saturday
