Job Summary: As the main contractor’s Safety Officer, you will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for maintaining a safe and compliant construction site. Your duties include developing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, facilitating training programs, and fostering a culture of safety among all personnel. You will also liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Job Description & Requirements

· Discharge duties as relevant in the WSH Act, WSH (Workplace Safety and Health (Officers) Regulations

· Deliver monthly reports on the performance and operation of the EHS system to the WSH manager and management.

· Conduct regular inspection to ensure that safety measures are in place at all times

· Implement and maintain proper procedures of WSH management, administration, and recording system

· Assist the WSH committee chairman, act as secretary to the committee and provide guidance to the members in carrying out their safety duties

· Conduct team/individual WSHE inspections and produce relevant reports and follow-ups

· Organize and conduct WSH briefings and training to all employees

· Investigate every incident or accident and develop preventive measures

· Ensure HR and relevant personnel are notified within an hour of the incident and provide preliminary report within the next 24 hours

· Ensure the effective implementation of risk assessments and follow-up actions to maintain high safety standard and compliance to company ISO, OHSAS policies and legal requirements;

· Be prepared to stop work or to notify the Site Manager in the event of any WSH deviations

· 5 days work week with alternate Saturdays.

Value Add of Position

· In-depth knowledge of WSH legal guidelines to advise and facilitate site activities.

· Prior experience of Curtain wall and façade installation works

· Knowledge of Lendlease Global Minimum Requirement (GMR).

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· Education: Minimum Advanced Certificate in Workplace, Safety, Health and Environment as stipulated in the Singapore Ministry of Manpower’s accepted WSH-related qualifications

· Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the Construction industry

· Certification in Lifting Supervisors Safety Course

· Certification in Managing Working at Height Course

Job Responsibilities:

· Conducts or provides for employee safety training / briefing, including classroom lectures, demonstrations or hands-on instruction.

· Implement Permit to Work (PTW) system for all high-risk work activities.

· Conduct regular safety inspections and organize periodic audits.

· Coordinates and consults with Project Managers, Project Engineer and WSH Officer and Supervisors regarding health and safety issues in their respective areas and notifies them regarding violation of safety regulations.

· Ensures preparation of safety manuals, training outlines and employee instructions for work deemed to have recognized hazards.

· Execute HSE programs to improve the safety and health performance, update HSE forms / notice boards and conduct toolbox meeting and safety orientation for employee and contractors.

· Ensures that Company / site complies with all environmental regulations regarding hazardous substance handling and disposal.

· Schedules and chairs regular safety meetings.

· Maintain mandatory records and other documentation as maybe required by the regulatory authorities.

Job Requirement:

• Minimum 3 years work experience in shipyard / marine structure demolition and repair works (Civil / Structural / M&E).
• Minimum 2 years work experience in asbestos removal and disposal works.
• Minimum 3 years work experience working under ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 standards / requirements.
• Have a valid WSH Coordinator Certificate.
• Have a valid Occupational First-Aider Certificate / Card.
