• Senior FSM is responsible for ensuring full compliance with fire safety regulations and maintaining all fire safety systems. This includes overseeing the implementation of the building's emergency response plan, conducting regular inspections and fire drills, and ensuring fire safety certification requirement are met.
• Conduct routine inspections of all fire safety systems and equipment.
• Identify and rectify any fire safety deficiencies to maintain compliance with regulations and ensure optimal performance of fire protection systems.
• Organise and conduct regular fire drills to ensure building occupants, including users and tenants, are familiar with evacuation procedures and prepared for emergencies.
• Review and update the building's emergency response plan as necessary to reflect changes in regulations, building layout, or new equipment.
• Prepare and submit annual fire safety report to Authority for the renewal of building's fire certificate.
• Ensure that all fire safety measure meet the criteria for certification and are compliant with Singapore fire safety code and regulations.
• Prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities on fire-related matters, including any incidents, compliance issues, and equipment maintenance updates.
• Complete any other assignments related to fire safety that may be directed by supervisor/snr management.

What the Role Is

Part Time Fire Safety Manager

• Conduct monthly fire safety inspection for workplace.
• Correspond with SCDF on all matters pertaining to fire safety within the premises
• Advise company in all submission of fire safety documents to Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) for approval
• Assist in the formation of Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and assist in training for the ERT members
• Review and update Emergency Response Plan (ERP) as required by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
• Ensure that all occupants are familiar with the means of escape located within the premises.
• Ensure Maintenance works on the fire protection system are carried out accordingly to FSSD regulation by company contractor.
• Perform fire safety inspections within premises to prevent fire hazard are created and no violation of Fire Safety regulations
• Conduct annual fire drill exercise for occupants of the premises
• Conduct Table-Top Exercises (TTX)
• Perform a fire risk assessment of the premises.
• Prepare an annual Fire Safety Manager (FSM) report for the building owner.

What we are looking for

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following requirements:-

• Certificate in Fire Safety Manager Course.
• Eligible to be registered with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) for building compliance
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently
• Must be a Singaporean citizen or Permanent Resident (PR).

Added Advantage

• Ability to conduct inspections on weekdays
• Experience working in a nursing home or polyclinic is an added advantage

Job Description

• Assist the company to achieve the Company Safety Policy, Target and Objectives
• Support WSH Officer in management of WSH programme and promote awareness to all stakeholders
• Carry out daily site inspection and ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
• Proactively identify hazards (unsafe work condition and practice) and offer solutions to prevent incident in a daily routine task.
• Perform as Safety Assessor and sign Permit-To-Work (PTW) system with relevant checklist for the compliance
• Work out Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedure (SWP), Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and etc together with the team and conduct review periodically
• Verify and confirm RA, checklist, and SWP is conducted and communicated to the workforce
• Coordinate WSH related activities with other project teams within the department
• Maintain all safety documentation and records on site. Responsible for project safety audit and external audit.
• Responsible in facilitating the daily TBM with project Supervisors and accident or EHSS non-compliance investigation with relevant stakeholders
• Responsible to facilitate in the accident/incident investigation report with Project Engineers for submission and monthly safety report for management’s review
• Participate in periodic site inspection, site audit, safety time-out and monthly safety committee meetings
• Responsible for continual improvement on WSH matters at project and department level
• Assist and coordinate with professionals (PE or LEW) for machinery and electrical appliances
• Liaise and follow up with the relevant stakeholders (including authority agencies) on EHSS matter
• Other relevant duties as may be assigned by WSH Officer & Managers.

Requirements

• Attain mandatory and competent in WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health, with 2 years post competency EHSS related experience.
• Level B Cert must be 2 years and above with experience as a WSH Coordinator
• Have safety experience in geotechnical engineering field
• Proficient in handling emails and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with a good command of English
• Responsible, accountable, work well in a team and has good communication skills with all levels of employees.
• MUST have own personal transport, at least a motorcycle.
